MBB: Monson Donates Williams Arena Suite To Benefit Katrina Victims

September 27, 2005 - University of Minnesota men’s basketball coach Dan Monson, in conjunction with “Coaches Care Across America”, has donated a Williams Arena Suite for the Dec. 23 game against South Dakota State to the “Coaches Care” on-line auction. All proceeds from the on-line auction will benefit Habitat For Humanity to help rebuild the Gulf Coast.
Fans interested in bidding on the Barnloft . . . can log on to allcoachescare.com. Monson’s Barnloft is submission number 229 and entitles the winner to entertain a group in a private suite at Williams Arena to watch the Gopher take on South Dakota State on Friday, Dec. 23 at 7:00 p.m. The winner will receive 22 game tickets.


Would be kinda cool if someone from South Dakota won the bid and turned it into Jackrabbit HQ.

Tell ya what . . . I put it in Snookums' watch list (she has an eBay account, I don't) and we'll see how high it gets. If it's still reasonable, we might just go for it.

If the price doesn't get too high I'd be willing to chip in for it. Sounds like fun, alot more than the drive back to SD on Christmas Eve does ;D

Sorry, I didn't read the title of the auction.  I looked on the gophersports.com page and read that the suites came in 14.  I'd also be willing to chip in if the price is right.

Current price for the suite on eBay is $480. Snookums and I are discussing how high to go right now.

filbert do you want how much we are willing to spend per ticket/seat, etc.

does anybody know what you get besides the ticket for the game suite, and does anybody know what a ticket costs for a gophers game normally?

I know about 4-5 of us are planning on being there and we would maybe be interested.

Looks like 22 tickets. Hard to say what it might go for but I suspect some corp. donor will make sure its at least 2K. I suspect we're looking at $125-150 per ticket. Whoever takes the winning bid is going to need a firm commitment for that kind of money.
