The early signing period starts today and runs through the 13th. I don't expect any surprises but it will still be fun to learn that the kids we have been talking about for a long time have made it offical.
AJ and Nagy were on the Sports Show with Brad and Scotty this morning. AJ said he was expecting 6 signings today. Five that have been known for awhile and a new recruit.
Nagy said he was expecting two, that is all of the available spots. Cordova is one. He said that he is really the age of a junior and if we was a year older we probably wouldn't have had a shot at him, that he would be Big 10 material but since he is young for his class we got him. Nagy is very big on his progress this past year and his abilitly for the future.
Nice interview with Cordova on KWSN. Interesting they are projecting him as a 3 in college. He will need to really work on his quickness and ball handling to play the 3. The term is overused but this kid has so much upside and if he ends up redshirting and continues to improve at the same rate will be tough in 2 years.

They said press releases will be out later today.

P.S. here is the offical list for the Women's team
Signing Wednesday, the first day of the fall signing period, were:

• Maria Boever, 6-0 forward, Worthington, Minn.;
• Ketty Cornemann, 5-11 forward, Yankton, S.D.;
• Abby Kratovil, 6-2 center, Martin, S.D. and

. . . In addition, Jackrabbit head coach Aaron Johnston announced that Brookings High School standout Nicole Helsper has been accepted for admission at South Dakota State and plans to join the women’s basketball program next fall. Helsper, a 5-7 guard . . .
This is a list of top players in Iowa signing letters of intent with DI and DII programs with Thomas Bassett. Some nice video of him playing.
jackguy,
can post the info or videos, i tried to access them but couldn't without subscribing. If it is illegal to do this or you don't feel comfortable don't worry about it.

Maybe he did and the Sports Information department ran out of work day. They got the Women's signings posted on GoJacks.com just before 5 pm tonight.
Go State! ;D
A press release for a signee who has verbally committed seems like the kind of thing you'd have ready to go, not the kind of thing you'd have to make up after the fact.

I for one, am not too worried about it. Over in the "Other SDSU Activities" forum we have a story (from the AP) of a SDSU Volleyball signee who was having a signing event today at 3:00 o'clock at her high school and we did not get a press release about her. Heck we didn't get anything except Women's basketball. I think all is well, just a little slower then we would like on the info side.
I'm a little confused. Did we sign Cordova and Bassett? Nothing on gojacks.com. NDSU has Tveidt in a news release on their site. Cordova was on the radio yesterday. So what's the holdup in announcing the signings?
I'm not impressed with the speed or depth that things are posted on Jacks.com If you look at most sites there are media guides with team and individual picture links and we only have the preseason information?
