  • Casey Knips

Found this on espn talking about small school prospects. He is one of five small school prospects mentioned. He is listed as the #24 OL in the draft.

OT Casey Knips (South Dakota State)
Like Washington, he possesses excellent length and uses this advantage to ride speed rushers past the pocket. He also does a nice job of getting into position and walling off defenders as a run-blocker.

Thanks for posting. Pro teams have to notice his size, length etc.

I assume as a fullback. SDSU doesn't use a traditional FB in their offense, but if they did Jordan probably would have been pretty solid. I'm guessing he's listed on espn because he runs a fast 40 for how big he is and his workout numbers are probably pretty good.

NFL Draft Bible on Casey Knips

            http://www.nfldraftbible.com/Players...sey-Knips.html

"Our View: Knips is a massive man standing a legit 6-8 and weighing 310 pounds, and he is another player that many people won’t be talking about until we get closer to the NFL Draft, but one team has him ranked as their number five overall senior tackle for the NFL Draft."

              Found this interesting article: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3...nfl-2010-draft

I see Casey Knips is mentioned in this article, along with some other conference players. They are previewing the defense in another article.

I think it speaks on the whole that whatever school you go to you work hard and it can pay off. Something the new recruits need to hear.

Boy, the guy who wrote that article must be in love with Pat Grace. He was mentioned twice as a potential backup QB for NFL teams (vikings and raiders).
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

                  Re: Casey Knips

Odds are the writer didn't see Pat Grace play, just his numbers. Good friend is a parent of a now former UNI player. Had nothing good to say about Grace.

Here is part 2 of the article: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3...defense-part-2

I don't agree with a lot of his picks, but I think the underlying message is whats important (going to a small school will not damage your chances if you are willing to work hard). At the very least SDSU is getting their name out there for people to see that we are not San Diego State or South Carolina State(saw that next to Danny Batten's name once).

Casey will be joining Batten in the Texas vs. Nation all-star game. TV posted this on his Twitter page.

Both Casey Knips and Danny Batten will be playing on the Texas side.

Kind of dilutes the "Texas vs. The Nation" name/premise now doesn't it??
