I could care less if they have 8000 looks or 12. Just do different things out of those looks. Don't rush 3 times up the middle on the goal line. Don't just run out of the wildcat.

If the defense adjusts to what you are doing...find something else "simple" and do it.
I agree that sums it up pretty well.

I've seen them both play, and Minett, while good, is no Josh Ranek. Maybe Minett would have done the same thing to the D2 teams that Ranek got to face, but in comparison to what they've done against their level of competition, Ranek is far superior.

And on topic, I agree with what SoDakJack is saying. The predictability of our offense is not a good thing.

Predictability?? We had a guy rush for over a 1000 yards and a Wr that caught over 60 passes this season.. I don't remember Steffens #'s and Cochart's #'s but they weren't bad either. Bottom line is that our offense was diverse and was tough to stop.. Ask UNI's defense about how tough our offense was?

Or Montana's for the vast majority of that game.

I will not disagree that the team put up some great stats. What I am saying is that there are certain situations where predictability comes into play. With our athletes I have no problem with a wildcat/flash. But to give our athletes the best chance to succeed the defense has to at least have the thought of a pass in their minds. Even if Kyle throws the ball out of bounds at least it is a different look out of a formation. Kyle is a great running back, but his chances of success against teams is lowered on the goal line if a vast majority of the plays are run in the same area.

I love the offense and they did many great things this year. I would just like to see some other "wrinkles" utilized that is all.

Back on topic, I really hope that there is another big QB battle this year. If Whittier and Mondol transfer I hope the two younger kids can push the young kid. I also hope that a real burner on the outside develops this offseason so that the passing game can open up even more.

I agree that we will need to have a passing threat off of the wildcat.. I hear we have some ppretty good speed coming from our younger Wr's

I think that the offense has an excellent base of knowledge and plan of attack. Perhaps with another set of camps TOB will be able maybe make some play changes on the fly. Perhaps the offense was limited by the talents of the qbs. Crawford wasn't as comfortable with the deep ball and TOB was just too green to be able to take the offense to the next level.

I would like to see more play action. For a team that runs the ball as much as we do up the middle, play action to a big tight-end (Cochart) running up the seam would be deadly. I kept wishing during the Montana game they would call this on the late drives, as you could see the line-backers crashing down to the line before the snap.

I would like to see that as well. Hopefully a more experienced QB can keep'em honest.

When I meant that maybe we should give some more guys some playing time I didn't mean it by saying we should give 6 different guys the same amount of carries...

I meant it more like this..

We NEED to get Tyrel Kool on the field more often, and then was suggesting that would it be the worst idea to run some of the other backs in there for a play or 2 a game?

I heard we have a really good TE that can catch. Is every thread adrift right now?
