You are a fair weather fan and would never be part of the foundation that forms a great program. GRIZ fans have lost 3 National Championship games and many playoff games over the years. You don't bad mouth your program. You build and move on. No heads should roll at SDSU unless you thought they should roll at half-time or the end of 3Q.
I have not posted that heads should roll. Others have, but I have not. I, though, refuse to justify what happened in the closing 20 minutes of the game as anything other than pathetic.

I feared this when the game ended...that it would be such an epic meltdown that it would be talked about on ESPN, etc. Yup...highlights already on ESPN and now it's been mentioned during the Notre Dame game. Makes my stomach ill.

If that quote is legitimate, I hope it is from a soon-to-be ex-Jackrabbit player because SDSU should not be wasting a roster spot - and, probably a scholarship - on a player with such a defeatist attitude.

I know I'm very sounding very harsh, but that type of attitude breeds a culture that is completely opposite of the culture that Stig has built at SDSU.

Most knowledgeable Jackrabbit fans acknowledge that next season will be a challenge with the loss of this year's seniors and the challenge of playing Nebraska, Delaware, UNI, NDSU, and SIU on the road, but at lot can happen in nine months . . .

I agree with you, if you don't think you are going to win clear up the spot and maybe clear up a scholarship for someone who wants to be there. All I've heard is good things about the talent that has been recruited. Now as far as the defense if you look at it we still have almost all of the Defensive backs coming back, as well as some guy named Domino who will star with Dirk Kool. Jake Steffen and Antonio Thompson. Plug Moala in the center and life is going to be better. If anything this is the time recruiting should peak. We got this team when we were in transition and the players were probably unsure of what was going to happen. As for offense...well I honestly think that TOB is not going to cut it in the end....Lotzer, Mondol, or Whittier are going to beat him out. Minnett is back, and maybe...just maybe Meadows will remember he has a tight end named Cochart. The WR's got some young talent to help Rollin with recognizable last names: Tiefenthaler(speed), Schmidt(big damn target). And the OL is young but they are some big boys and they just learned under one of the best OL that State has ever had. If each puts on 10 to 20 lbs by next year we are staying the course! Even the kicking game, while not the best State has ever had, is still good and is returning! We had Berry and JaRon the year before, and I was unsure about what was going to happen, but the PROGRAM is solid, most of the FOUNDATION is leaving but now the WALLS are going up!
Next season is tough. We want to win every game. EVERY GAME! No more "couldas. woulda, or shouldas" And these guys can do it!

For those that don't respect our program, we lead the BSC in graduation rates and academic all-americans. SDSU has the kind of kids we like in our program. Congrats on a great season!
How can't we respect your program? You bought out a contract(I think is some people's main gripe) which was legal in the contract. It's a business and you stood to make more otherwise(so many forget it's one of the main reasons we don't play USD)When that happened I think it just hurt people, because we all thought how awesome it would be to host the Griz in our own stadium. In a lot of minds it meant "We had made it!" a D1AA powerhouse was coming to play us. I know I did. I didn't expect to win then, I just wanted to see some of the top talent in 1AA football. Is that so wrong. So I think it hurt a lot of feelings. But past is past. I respect the School and the Program. I never like it when people bash a program for when a player does something stupid. Coaches and staff aren't all knowing sh$t happens.
As for being in the Big Sky? Well I just like being in the Valley too much!

Good grief. I don't buy this at all. There are several good, young, redshirt receivers and o-linemen waiting in the wings (receiver Trevor Tiefenthaler, for example, and lineman Alex Parker, among others. Plus, there will be a big class of fresh recuits coming in.

We lost a great QB last year. Seems like the two we had did pretty good. Teams lose players every year to graduation. Our receiving core does take a big hit, but there are players on the roster, or being recruited to replace. Sorry if I don't feel the same way as "a junior from the team" because I see some pretty good players coming back.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

Ouch, thats 5 losses right there, ZERO chance of SDSU beating NDSU twice in the fargodome. UNI & SIU will be bigtime next year.

TOB will be our starter next year. Not a bad frosh season at all. In fact it was pretty good. The coaches put him in a terrible position the fourth quarter. The also put craw in a bad position a couple of times too. We beat youngstown by only a couple of touchdowns. Come on. Arron rollins need to be used more too as well as cochart. These guys are playmakers. I like steffan and fox, but they were not used effectively at all. If they mix up the play calling better and don't play scared and use out ENTIRE playbook TOB can be very dangerous. Yes he's got to get a little faster and he will. By freshman standards and played well when they used his strengths. I for one don't want to loose some of these redshirt freshman.

haha! zero chance sdsu beats ndsu in the fargo dome? NDSU is on the decline ever since 2007.. The programs are going in 2 seperate directions! NDSU lost to an average Youngstown State, Missouri State, and Illinois state all at the fargo dome last year! and not to mention that Illinois state was homecoming!! embarrassing! Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa are no where near untouchable at home. You must realize you are posting to the team who finished second in the conference this year. And we are not scared of Delaware ( did they make the playoffs this year, or were they even ranked?) and bring on Nebraska baby! lets show the nation what jackrabbit football is all about. What a great opportunity!

I have noted lately that Mr. CCdeville has been edging towards the "smack in non-smack threads" precipice . . .

I would suggest that others not provide him with encouragement to edge further.

Back to the topic, "just the start".

I hope (and expect) that one of the things that is going on in the wake of this tough loss is an assessment of what the program needs to continue to grow. Seems to me that what Stig needs is a couple more assistants so he can become more the quality control and big-picture leader he is so good at being. Stig has been coaching safeties (and look at how well THEY have played!) but we need him to be the overall leader 100 percent of the time.

I think we have very talented assistants now, by the way, but they have a lot on their plates, and they are underpaid. We're operating on a minimal football budget and look what the coaches and players have been able to do. Let's give them some more resources. They've been so efficient working with nothing, imagine what they could do if they had the kinds of resources our opponents have.
                                Holy nutmeg!
