Casey Knips is representing SDSU and the MVC as a semi-finalist for the Campbell Trophy, which is the new name for the Draddy Trophy that Ryan Berry was a finalist for. Good to see that its more than just Berry, and more of a team mentality, who puts as much effort into the books as well as the field! The NDSU qb Nick Mertens is also in the running. Good to see a lineman getting some love for this award as well

Nice recognition for a nice guy. This is really what SDSU athletics should be about. Linemen are the most underrated players on the team and deserve to be recognized. They have been berated this whole season for their play, but the starting 5 have not had a single penalty this year. They have given up 7 sacks for a total of 39 yards, but compare that to the defensive penalties totaling 85 yards (mostly for personal fouls and unsportsmanlike conduct) and special teams penalties for 54 yards. Do they need to improve? Yes--just like every other player on the team!
