It usually was when I was in the band.

Fair or not, the Pride got the reputation in recent years that it was all about them and the game wasn't really important to them. I'd say that's not entirely fair because we have to remember how much work and dedication is involved in what they do.

But I do think they fed that perception through a few things that happened under the prior leadership. And I think that's why lots of people (myself included) responded negatively to things like the fireman song.

What's clear to me already, though, is that things have changed. Dr. Peterson and the Pride were very much into the game on Saturday. They were great. Now, if they add a halftime performance to all they did this week, we couldn't possibly ask any more of them. When they're playing on every down, performing before the game and at halftime, nobody should complain if they sing a song now and then.
        Holy nutmeg!

          Agreed JimmyJack,

The pride brings much to the table. In fact, during some of the years when the Jacks were not very good people would stay thru the half time show to listen to the pride and than go home. Ouch! But true.

I would actually like to see the band relocated. To where? Don't know and would not suggest a place. But, if they were accross on the east side the home town fans could actually hear more of what they do. Its fun stuff.

          Go Pride.

I really like "The Pride". I think they're great! I missed the song when they fill the stands before the game. It has alot of energy to it. That will give anyone goosebumps. However, I think they need to play some things faster. I thought they played "Ring the Bells" too slow. "State Cadence", which is "1, 2, 3, 4 tell the people who we're for", is also a little slow, but not nearly as slow as the cheerleaders do it.

I'm just thankful for the Pride. They do add so much to the game. We came in close to gametime last week and just walking from parking space to the stadium hearning the band helped get my blood pumping.

What a strange story. I'm not an Isaiah Thomas fan, but I can't see the correlation of pounding on the basketball coach for the decision not to have a football marching band.

Good call. Thought the same thing on "Ring the Bell". I'm not a fan when the national anthem turns into a funeral dirge and the same it true for the school song. Other than that, the stand tunes were very tight. It shows that it was their focus and they are commended for it.

New director. Things are going to change. So far, I'd say the changes are an improvement overall.

I'm told that beginning with the NDSU game, the Pride will be out of the main grandstand and into a new set of bleachers in the southeast corner. And that will continue for the UNI game.

Moving the band to the southeast corner will be a good move. I like the band, but it's weirdly situated now.

So will section D be student seating or general admission or reserved seating? I'm in section E the right next to D, Seat 1 and 2, and I'm wondering who will be sitting right next to me?
