Agreed! I see our QB situation as a win, win, win & win situation. Now granted, it'd be nice if 1 guy emerged as the clear cut #1, but I'd say our QB situation looks pretty good for the next 4 years or so.

      It's D-Day (decision day)....

I think it's O'Brien or Whittier (I'll pick O"Brien). Last night KELO reported that there were now just 3 guys in the running for starter. That could mean several things....

1.) Whittier could be ruled out b/c O'Brien wins the job and Whittier will now take a redshirt. Probability - 50%

      2.) Crawford could be ruled out b/c he's still not 100%. Probability - 40%

3.) Mondol could be ruled out b/c the time he missed just has him behind the others. Probability - 10%

I'm going to make a prediction we are going to have to wait a few more days.

Other prediction right now is Mondol's out, mainly based on what I saw at the practice Friday in SF. Maybe it's because he missed a week, maybe not, but he didn't look in sync.

I think you need to add your probability that O'Brien is out because of comments from staff that he hasn't handled pressure well and that he needs another year to develop. (not saying that is true, but it is the comments you hear as to why he wouldn't be the starter).

Thought O'Brien looked very good. Glad to know whittier can throw a 5 yard dump to the RB but who cares. Someone made a comment about TOB throwing into the wind and TV made a comment about big play potential- he's got it. Warm-ups he even looked more consistent and it showed on the field. Things that need to be ironed out will only be ironed out if he's given the chance. Crawford should be back-up as mentioned earlier- his arm and throwing motion has not gotten much better in recent years. However, I do think he showed good game management- again he'd be a good back-up. Redshirt Whittier in the end although why would he stay if O'Brien is starting and the same goes for O'Brien.- Wow interesting drama.

Well, if they redshirt Whittier he won't be in the same class as O'Brien anymore, so his likelihood of starting as a senior woud be really high... not to mention it is football, players get injured and under-perform, so you can go from backup to starter or vice versa in a hurry. Tom Brady would be a prime example of this, for in 2001, nobody before the season would have thought he'd remain the Patriots starting quarterback if Drew Bledsoe was healthy, let alone lead them to a Super Bowl Victory.

Whittier has a good arm. He's capable of throwing a heck of a lot more than a five-yard dump-off.

Anybody have any idea what time practices are held?

                    Re: Fall Camp Thread

If Whittier and O'Brien were out, I doubt that they would be leading the number 1 and number 2 offenses the past couple of weeks during the two minute drill Stig has towards the end of practice.

Starting tomorrow, practices run from 2:15 to roughly 5:30-6:00
