Jenks DB Devin Pugh to sign with South Dakota State

Jenks defensive back Devin Pugh will sign to play football at South Dakota State this week, said his mother, Laila Fritz.

Pugh had 45 tackles and four interceptions to help the Trojans reach the Class 6A state championship game. The 5-foot-10, 165-pounder was a two-star prospect on ESPN.com and drew interest from Colorado State.

Pugh was an honorable mention all-metro selection by the Tulsa World. He plans to sign with the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly I-AA) school Friday, Fritz said.

TV reports the Jacks have a California recruit, Jonathan Mack, coming in for a visit who has supposively already verballed to UNLV. Though he has verballed, UNLV isn't sure if they have a scholarship available, so Mack is exploring other options. http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/yb/141453746

Mack is rated a 3 star recruit on rivals (of course they'll move him down to at least a 2 star if he signs with SDSU), and we need a corner bad in this class, so this would be a huge get!

Jenks defensive back Devin Pugh will not sign with South Dakota State on Friday as originally planned, said his mother, Laila Fritz.

Pugh was to sign with the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly I-AA) school on Friday. But Pugh, a two-star talent according to ESPN.com, went on his official visit Tuesday and changed his mind, Fritz said.

The lesson, as always: Verbal commitments are non-binding. Nothing's official until the national letter of intent is signed.

Might be the wrong place for this but I hear, Robbie Jelsma, former Bon Homme HS(class of 2010) standout has transferred to SDSU from USD. He'll officially be a Jack Rabbit on Monday.

First thought - I hope he immediately burns every article of red clothing he owns... Second, did SDSU recruit him in the first place? Was he on scholarship at USD? Any idea why he transferred?

We recruited him but didn't offer a full ride so he went to the Yotes who did.

Yes I believe he was on scholarship with USD. Yes SDSU was recruiting him but I don't think he was offered a scholarship. That being the reason he chose USD over SDSU. Not sure on the real reason for the transfer, I've heard a couple different things.

Yesterday, a USD booster told me that he was redshirting and staying at USD.
