Have you noticed how hard NDSU is recruiting in Nebraska now. For years they focused primarily in Minnesota with some from other regional states but had limited numbers from Iowa and Nebraska. I noticed that they have hit the metro areas for Omaha and Lincoln much harder this year.
As listed in the previous post, they are also recruiting Reed. They have another commitment from Jesse Hinz, a two star offensive lineman on Rivals and they are actively recruiting Antaries Daniels a two star rated running back from Omaha.

I know we will still have a strong presence in both those states, I just don't like losing kids to them.
Careful what you wish for....I'll take the kids Stieg and his staff recruit over NDSU's any day (we're 3-0 the last 3 years)....but maybe sprinkle in a little more speed.

Everyone was wondering if Bohl had lost his mind soliciting all the early verbals. He looks pretty smart now. I think he knew going in to the season he didn't have the horses, and I think he knew his recruiting power would go down after the season got rolling. So he used his recruiting value at the time. Pretty shrewd business move.

I tried bringing this theory up in Bisonville but they all shot it down pretty quickly. Craig Bohl is no dummy, he went out and got what he could before the season went down the crapper.

I think they are getting back at us for sneaking into Wisconsin to pick up some kids, a state that NDSU usually recruits well. I'm expecting to see alot of Nebraska kids and Missouri/Kansas kids in 2010 with the new assistants we hired from those regions.
Does anybody have a good read on any South Dakota recruits that SDSU might have their eyes on?
This is what it looks like so far for DI SD recruits:
C Tom Farniak SF Washington -- Iowa St
WR Trever Gebhardt SF Washington -- NDSU
DE Michael Hardie SF O'Gorman -- NDSU
QB Austin Sumner Brandon Valley -- SDSU offer
RB Brad Tunge Hurley/Marion -- SDSU interest
I'm not too familiar with South Dakota football but I'll throw some names out from the KSFY pigskin preview.
These players were ones that I'm familiar with:
OL/DL Eric Gruis - Tri-Valley 6'3" 235
ATH Matt Hermanson - SF Washington 6'1" 180
LB Robbie Jelsma - Bon Homme 6'3" 215
LB Nate Kirby - Tri-Valley 6'0" 200
LB Sam Thorson - Groton 6'3" 210
ATH Tony Viger - SF O'Gorman 6'1" 200
These players seem like they have the size/accomplishents to get a look:
RB/LB Thad Campbell - Platte Geddes/DC 6'2" 190
RB/LB Christian DeCurtains - Arlington 6'0" 185
OL/DL Eric Gruis - Tri-Valley 6'3" 235
LB Ryan Guthmiller - Yankton 5'11" 190
TE/DE Tait Johannsen - Wagner 6'3" 215
OL Cole Krehbiel - SF Lincoln 6'3" 230
TE/DE Josh Licht - Estelline 6'2" 210
LB Connor Skaare - Hitchcock/Tulare 6'1" 190
LB Wyatt Walter - Howard 6'1" 210
Seems like South Dakota is filled with Linebackers in the 6'1" 200 range.
