    Re: un-Bison MVC recruits

Bring him on. Here's one Michigan football analysis blog of Threet as Michigan starter this year.

But what struck me is that Threet's deficiencies in the spread were the same deficiencies he'll have in any offense: Overthrows; staring down receivers; bad reads; muffing the throw; etc. It's not like Threet did anything this year that made you say, "Dang, if only he was in a different offense."

      Re: un-Bison MVC recruits

sorry guys but Bison fans did not start the Threet rumor. We were thrown into the discussion by Michigan fans. We first heard when somebody came onto Bisonville and said that their son who attended Michigan heard rumors that he was considering NDSU, which has obviously sparked a lot of interest. There are people on the Michigan and even Ohio St. boards saying he is transferring to NDSU. But who knows, probably isn't true but it I hope it is...

Lakesbison - All due respect, stars don't usually mean squat and the recruting "experts" are right only half the time. If stars and recruiting services were that credible then no way does Notre Dame stink for so many years and no way does Michigan fail to win 5 games last year, etc. etc. etc. Those are only two examples....

On the other hand, Kansas football has had a nice run as of late. Their team last year that reached #2 in the rankings, went 12-1 and won the Orange Bowl had ZERO 4-star recruits and ZERO 5-star recruits on the roster.

I like the SDSU class and if one of the QB's can come in and get it done....look out!

Thanks for the info. Who was it that started the rumor? Some guy just popped in and mentioned his name? I wonder if it was a Sue fan?

              Re: un-Bison MVC recruits

I read the message board comments on one of the links provided in an earlier post. It seems like this guy has been at both Georgia Tech and Michigan and now wants to move on again? I think Coach Bohl would be wasting his time trying to get this guy, since he did not learn to execute at Georgia Tech nor at Michigan. What makes everyone think he will just fall in place at NDSU? NDSU would bebetter of to pick up some Nine man QB from some remote place in Central ND, who wants an education. The unname guy would probably be willing to learn the Bison offensive system. The hot shot from Michigan? probably not.

As a Bison fan, hearing news of a kid "maybe" coming to NDSU from the University of Michigan is exciting, whether its a longshot or not. If SDSU was mentioned, would'nt there be a whole thread mentioning it and have numerous excited posters responding to it ? Give us a break. It's the off season, we gotta have something to talk about football wise. And who knows how this kid would do with the Bison offense, under the Bison coaches, playing against 1AA competition every week. The only way to know for sure is to get him here and give him a shot.

Oh so he deserves a shot? Why? He washed out of two programs, and the way you guys tore Mertens apart last year, this guy would really get it if he flubbed just once. Go with your local talent you cant go wrong.

He is not a Sioux fan.. looks like a Bison fan!! In one of his posts he gave a bit of his connection to NDSU. Plus, the tone of all his posts are very pro Bison - not that there is anything wrong with that!?!?

On a side note congrats to SDSU women B-Ball team. Best of luck during March Madness, it would be great to see a Sweet 16 run by the girls.

A shot meaning a chance to compete for the starting role against Moehler and Nick in fall ball. I think Nick is going to be the starter and I'm personally looking forward to it.

Again thanks for the info. I guess we will see what happens. I still haven't seen any firm facts or evidence to substantiate what has been posted on the message boards. Still in the rumor category at best.

                          Re: un-Bison MVC recruits

Moderators, since I started this thread and it has drifted into a Phantom Bison QB thread for reasons that baffle me, can we either close it or turn it into what it was intended to, an un-Bison MVC thread?

Point of the thread was there are actual recruits from other MVC schools to discuss that have nothing to do with our friends up north, as much as they'd like to think they do.

P.S. Heard a rumor today that Brett Favre has a year left of college eligibility and was thinking of coming out of retirement to play for the Bison. They're THAT attractive to QBs!

Haha, that's funny. Telling everyone to not talk about the Bison and then you end your post talking about the Bison. Obviously, the Bison are more fun to talk about since this thread hasn't really taken off with Un-Bison MVFC talk. And now to more important things, Brett Favre would look great in green and yellow. Bring him in, give him a shot !!!

I agree, although, your usual 5 posters probably ran out of things to say on the subject of un-Bison recruits. Take out the Bison chatter and this thread really doesn't amount to much.
