Got another one!! Josh Kage, an offensive lineman from Papillion-LaVista High School, has made a verbal commitment to play at South Dakota State. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound senior was a Super State first-team pick, an honor that encompasses every class in Nebraska. (From today's Argus Leader). GO JACKS!!

Wow, we're really loading up on offensive lineman. I wonder if any will be playing DT.

Thanks for the Josh Kage find Jacks#1Fan. I've updated the list with him and Powell going to USD.

And he sits at No. 2 in this week's ratings.

More on Kage from the Omaha World Herald. Sounds like quite an athlete.

And also intelligent. He got looked at by some Ivy league schools as well as Stanford (in the other sports he participated in)

He should fit in quite nicely. Maybe I am Rip Van Winkle, but it seems to me that Stig has really focused on the student side more since we have moved to DI. You hear him constantly speak now on character and getting an SDSU type guy. Not saying that this wasn't the case in the past, but it appears he has really honed his recruiting acumen (or maybe hiring practices?) I think we can all agree that there has been a steady improvement each year in the team's competitiveness. I like.

That Nebraska walk-on mention make anyone nervous?

It doesn't make me nervous. He's had time to think about the decision that's best for him. It's not like last year when dipstick called the night before signing day. If he would have done that, then maybe it might be a different story.

Agreed about him having time to make his decision and coming to the best conclusion for him. It isn't like last year with the late night invite to walk on. Mr. Kage knew walking on at UNL was an option (among many others - pretty impressive to say the least) but chose us. I like that a lot. This class looks stellar on paper. I admit, I can't get enough of the recruiting stuff.
