Good find...I will put Whittier in his own category "Transfers". Its awesome he's already enrolling in class and that he'll be here for spring ball.

The competition he can bring will be the best feature. I hope we add one more guy into the mix. We can't assume any one is the front runner unless Crawford can return at 100%. Plenty of FBS transfers don't pan out at all. That said, I am very happy with this young mans choice and with the recruiting process this year.

I think its safe to say some people were very anxious about the lack of news early in the process. I felt reassured when I visited with Coach Stig and now I know why he felt so good about things.

Excellent info there, sounds almost to good to be true. When does spring ball start? I need to start planning for a trip to Brookings.

One good thing about this kid that I already know is that if he got into the Academy (or the Zoo as it's affectionately known), he has got to have his head on straight. If there is one iota of doubt, they won't bring a kid into that place.

The Jacks are on a great roll, recruiting-wise. Too bad there's not a few more skollies available this year. Regardless, the coaching staff and players are assembling a heck of a team.

Good find. I've added him to the list.

If we only have 9 schollies to hand out, does anybody know how many we will have each of the next three or four years? It would have to be considerably more wouldn't it? If so, it would be nice to even those numbers out a bit.

Last year's junior and sophomore classes were fairly large, I imagine we will have a pretty big recruiting class next year unless they try to do some evening out.

Here is the breakdown by class for this past year's team according to my counting on gojacks.com:
                        Senior - 13
                        Junior - 18
                        Sophomore - 25
                        Freshman - 14
                        Red-Shirt - 17

I can't reconcile the 63-scholarship limit with the estimate of 87 in the prior post. Okay, I'm slow. What am I missing?

They can still give partial scholarships, right? And how many walk-ons do we generally have?
                            Holy nutmeg!

Some players are walk-ons and some are partial scholarships. I believe we are allowed to give out a maximum of 63 full scholarships, but they can be split to a maximum of 85 players, the others are walkons.
