Stig is gonna give his defensive guys some incentive to play better.
35 points in a half. Not gonna win games against quality teams with crap D, stupid penalties and bad special teams.
We are gonna need to step up on D and probably need some help from SIU as well. They are gonna run the ball, make us run the ball, and look to burn us with the pass. That second quarter was just HORRIBLE for our defense.

We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
SIU announcers say the O has put up 35 points, no they havent. take away a kick off, interception and a dumb penalty and the score is 21-14 State or at least tied. The Jacks O can move against this team, fire up the D.
25 rushes minimum
+2 turnover battle
2 or less sacks by them
5 tackles for loss + sacks by SDSU
75% or better TD conversion in the red zone
This is a very good, but beatable team. Their home field must be a beast of a place to play with 0 losses in the last two years, so a score and a stop by the Jacks right off the bat like last week would be huge to take the crowd out of it.
Ok let's go back to this.
25 rushes, looking good
turnovers, not good especially since they scored immediately on it.
sacks by, sounds like they are pressuring
tackling, not good
td conversions, very good
1. Yes, horrible end to the half.
2. Too many penalites...most of them just plain stupid. Who is offside on a kickoff? Honest to Christ, how do you do that? Then, of course, the personal fouls.
3. The kick return was big.
4. The pick at such a crucial time was probably even bigger.
D is going to have to step it up next half.
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!
We're okay, guys. Our coaches have shown remarkable ability to make adjustments during halftime.
We knew going into this game that little squirt Warner can do what he's doing today. But think about this: returns on a kickoff and an interception are the differences. We just have to get cranked up. This is a game we can win but it'll be a battle.
Everyone knows we are okay, we just have a high level of expectation for this team. That 2nd quarter was WAY SHORT of what we expect. Thats the reason for the discontent.
Now, if I remember correctly, SIU has been outscored by a wide margin, I mean wide margin in the 3rd quarter. Its their worst quarter this year. So, we need to take the ball and score a TD and then let the D show us what they are really made of.

GO RABBITS!
It will be interesting to see what happens in the 2nd half with our KO's and SIU's response. We purposefully kicked a line drive away from Warner the two times (one was a penalty) at the end of the half and that seemed to work. Does SIU just put Warner back there and let him get all KO's?
We are doing well with Warner on run plays. It's the screens that are killing us. If he gets outside the tackles, we're in trouble. Their passing game is average at best.
