In case anyone is interested. McNeese is in a tailspin. Would have been nice to have started that at SDSU.

I'd side with the media poll over the coaches poll based on the teams I have seen. Not sure how NDSU can be ranked 24th and we barely have any votes. One thing both teams can agree on - disappointing middle part of the season for both squads after promising starts.

I don't get how NDSU is still ranked either but I think it has a lot to do with how high the Coaches poll had them at the beginning of the season and their refusal to drop them very far after their first loss.

The pollsters may be looking at other factors than what's the team's potential for making the play-offs or influencing who makes the play-offs.

Jacks still have a decent shot at the play-offs, because of their record in the MoValley. Our chance of an at-large are smaller, but Jacks are still two losses away from not meeting the 7 D-I criteria. However, 5 losses would not sit well.

In contrast, McNeese St. cannot win the Southland except as a co-champion, and they cannot get to 7 D-I wins. Likewise, with 4 losses, but especially the 3 MVFC losses mean the Bison are locked out of the play-offs.

Even though Jacks have 4 losses, and are only .500, Jacks are one of the few teams with a legitimate shot at the play-offs.
