  • UNI players suspended

Two UNI players, Evan Tecklenburg and Mitchell Houk, both redshirt freshmen, were suspended after an auto accident. The driver, Tecklenburg, was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia.

I first saw this story while visiting Bisonville. Here's the link to the Fargo Forum article: link

Hmmm...going to have to figure out how this fits on the Panther Lookalike thread.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - University of Northern Iowa officials say two football players who were arrested after a car accident have been suspended indefinitely from the team.

Police say 19-year-old Evan Tecklenburg of Muscatine was driving early Saturday when his vehicle was involved in an accident. He was arrested on charges of first-offense operating while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also in the vehicle was 19-year-old Mitchell Houk of Ottumwa. He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The UNI roster shows that both men are redshirt freshman offensive lineman for the Panthers.

From info, this has zero impact on team playing Sat. Extremely minor distraction, mainly for the Coach.

Agreed, might be the best thing that happened to these young men. Now they can address the issues that led to this behavior and correct them. Their playing days at UNI are over or at least they should be.
