Great game all the way around. Kjerstad, Batten, Thompson, Minett, Berry, Harris, Cochart, etc., all had great games. Well everybody did, but those are the ones who made plays that I remember right now.
I was pretty impressed with Tyler Duffy. He hits the hole fast and with some authority. He was just one of a bunch of very impressive young players out there for us tonight. General Parnell made some impressive plays, too.
I think it was #77 Casey Bender who came out on the first series and came back on crutches. Hate to lose anybody, but we had about 9 or 10 offensive linemen play tonight, and they all looked really good. I watched Schroeder and Batten closely when they came out. Both had hand or wrist injuries, and both looked fine when they came back in.
Youngstown has a good defensive line, but we manhandled them all night. If I was YSU's head coach, I'd build my offense around #6 and forget about the other QBs. They were woeful, although Batten and his buddies had something to do with that.
Great time. The crowd was a little sleepy, but it'll be better next week. We need another 1-0 next week with WIU.
Also our next opponent Western Illinois crushed Quincy University 63 to 0.
Quincy plays NAIA in football. So yea they played Ark tough but don't go by tonights game in the thinking of next week.
Great to hear we won! Didn't get to listen or be at the game, sitting here in Minneapolis 'burbs, went to Renessance (sp) festival today (should've asked what day before I said I'd go!)

Just got back from the game a little while ago and got most of the body paint off. Excellent game for the Jacks, student section was into it for the most part so that was nice. If they come out like this next weekend they should have another win. What looked like a possible 0-3 start could easily turn into a 2-1 start and if UNI played like they did against USD it could turn into a 3-1 start.
Missed KDLT's coverage. Caught the highlights on KELO, of course they led with Dakota Bowl then SDSU then BHSU v SMSU then USD with no highlights.

Noticed tonight that Monke didn't play and neither did the new kicker. Not really sure why.
Just switched over to KSFY and caught the end of USD highlights but didn't catch anything about the Jacks.
Jacks looked real sharp tonight. That was fun to watch. These aren't your same old Jackrabbits.

Monke is still healing per coach in the post game. Jordan Paula separated his shoulder on the one big play that he was in. So got two injuried in terms of running backs. Tyler Duffy looked very good against a haggard YSU late in the game.4
SDSU seemed to have its way with the TE passes for big yards and some of the others. The program said YSU was young at safety and that seem to be their problem in stopping the passes. A very good win over a talented YSU. Whether Savage would have helped YSU I dont know, but his leadership might have changed the outcome.
For as disappointed as I was with how we played last week (and I was VERY disappointed), I am just as impressed this weekend. I didn't see this coming. Not at all. Well done, Jacks.
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!
