Our interesting football doesn't start for another 2 weeks. Don't get me wrong I enjoy watching the Bison play but I will be the first to admit our OOC schedule this year wasn't the best. Last weeks team did however go 7-4 last year and this weeks team did go into Georgia Southern last year and win a game so it's not exactly like our OOC schedule was put together by the Montana AD. Now go loosen up your shorts so they don't get too bunched up by next weekend. Good luck against Youngstown if your QB plays anything like he did last week it's going to be a long day on Saturday.

The record book for past scores speak for themselves, so I don't deny a slow start, but as I said in the first post, I would prefer a slow start-strong finish to a fast start-slow finish. Yes NDSU does have depth, but you got to admit, NDSU was ripe for an upset. Thats about attitude, and trying to keep 100 guys on the ground after beating Minnesota and the other D1A team, was a task for your coaching staff.

How SDSU looks when coming into Fargo on Week No 11, is hard to say. I hope we are healthy and ready to take on the Bison. We have not won in Fargo since 1963, so we are ripe for a win again. Whether we pull it off win a one point win or a 50 pt win, it does not matter to me.

As far as your schedule, well I for one had hardly noticed, but now that drew our attention to it, it does look like Valpraiso No1 and Valprasio No2, since both Austin Peay and Central Conn. are just starting scholarship programs for football. Where these good or bad choices? Hard to say

I spend a lot of time in Fargo and gotten to know a lot of people. For the most part they are great people, very down to earth Norwegians like myself. The legend of winning football at NDSU does generate very high expectations, and you can not deny that. I never noticed more sobbing and weeping than when the green and gold legion headed north up I-29 last fall. We get our underwear in a wad?? Huh????????

This attitude is fairly common over in Bisonville land. I think a fairly large percentage of fans truly think last years win was a fluke. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I never felt the Cyclones were manhandling us in that game.

I still can't believe we lost to these guys last year.

They may have got their money, but they got their asses kicked in the process.

I said it before and I'll say it again. SDSU played better that day, their best game of the year and our worst. If the same two teams played again 9 times the Bizon would win 9 games.

Whle I didn't see your game with the cyclones from what I've read it wasn't any competition. Either way it doesn't matter you lost the game. Regarding the comments from Bison fans most have given you credit for the win last year. Yeah you guys get your undies in a bunch when anyone questions last years game. Yet you want to lay claim that your loss with ISU was a competitive one? Hmmm seems like a double standard going on here.

However, after the first game, I still think we have a very good shot at starting 3-1. Two home games against teams SDSU was even with on the road last year, and then a tough battle at UNI. But as Coach says, the only goal is to be 1-0 this week.
I'm a bit curious about this with 4 losses bit. Personally, if the Jacks finish in a tie for 2nd in the MoValley (Let's assume that 2 teams tie with two conference losses, and 3 tie with 3 losses), and Jacks have OOC wins over Southland champ McNeese, and Great West, and play-off bound Cal Poly. 2 of our conference losses are to the co-winners, at their house, plus loss to SIU at their place, I would see us being the 3rd team selected out of MoValley. This is the toughest FCS schedule faced by any of the MoValley teams. We would have no OOC losses, and most importantly, we would have 8 FCS wins. I would say we'd be in.

So with that said, here's my full conference predictions.

NDSU 8-3, 6-2, losses to Wyo. UNI YSU
UNI 8-3, 6-2, losses to BYU SIU WIU
SDSU 8-4 5-3, losses to IA St U, NDSU, UNI, SIU
YSU 8-4 5-3, losses to Ohio St, SDSU, UNI, SIU
SIU 7-4 5-3, losses to No Ill, NDSU, WIU, Mo St.
WIU 7-5 4-4, losses to ARK, NDSU, SDSU, YSU, IL St
Mo St 6-5, 4-4, losses to NDSU, SDSU, WIU, YSU
Il St 4-7 2-6, wins over WIU, In St.
In St 2-9 0-8, OOC wins vs OVC & D-II teams

Rabid I think those are all very possible picks but the key would be to who the losses are against. I think you are overlooking Western Illinois. I wouldn't be surprised to see Western sneak out a W from one of the XDSU's. They played a good game last week and almost won on the road at a FBS. Either way whoever the losses may come against I still maintain that if a team has 4 losses I don't see that team going to the playoffs.

More important than the number of losses are the number of Div I wins. Under the scenerio that I listed, UNI would only have 7 qualifying wins, as USD would be one of the Panther victims.

An 8-4 3rd place Missouri Valley team will definately go to the playoffs unless there are somehow 16 10-2 teams or something.

I would venture a guess that the worst that the Jacks do is win 5 games. Mo St., Il St, In St., SFA and one of our four ranked teams at Coughlin, McNeese, Poly, WIU, or YSU.

We have been playing this rugged a schedule pretty much since 2005, and have been 6-5 is better each year. I, along with most here, would be thrilled if Jacks have a breakout (up) year.

I think that 7-5 is kind of the over under point. Anything above that will be a great season, but anything lower than that will be a big disappointment.

Injuries, injuries, injuries. If we can stay healthy, we will be fine. A couple big injuries to our D-line/linebackers, and the dynamics of this team change in a hurry. Same for QB and O-line. If we stay healthy, I think a 7-5 over line is spot on. If we get banged up, it could get ugly real fast. That will change in time with max schollies to work with, but those aren't going to make a huge impact for another 2 years or so. The current team was built primarily on 50 schollies or so.
