Read the above Argus artticle that is posted. It states you have to have DirectTVs "premium sports package" in order to get the channel the game is on.

Search DirecTV's website. Channel 617 is NOWHERE to be found, even under the premium sports packages. It isn't even listed on my HD-20 DVR listings, which shows all of the channels, even if I do not subscribe to them.

I read somewhere that the FCS channel is sometimes farmed out and the programs are sent to FSNorth and FSMidwest.

Is this a possibility? We need to find some DirecTV fanatic to answer the question!

As a long-time DirecTV and premium sports package subscriber, all I can tell you is that DirecTV has been rearranging a bunch of its premium sports channels over the last few weeks. It's possible 617 is on its way, but I can't say for sure.

I've seen several other games this year being billed as popping up on DirecTV 617 . . . Montana State vs. Kansas State, among them.

I suspect the games will be there, but not strongly enough that I'd put money on it.

Nutty's North has agreed to have the game on for those that are unable to make it to Ames. There will be an email announcement sent out by the Alumni Assoc in the next few days with more details. If you can't make it to Ames, get on out to Nutty's North as they really stepped up to the plate in making sure have the right package so they can show the game. Jackrabbit fans need to get and reward them for their effort.

FCSC (central) is carried on knology (formerly PrairieWave) digital cable channel 172 here in Yankton. Not available in high def.

I haven't been using the DVR feature but I'm about to start. May be a different channel in other areas of SD by its definitely available in Yankton. This info should not prevent anyone who is planning to attend the game from attending. I'm looking forward to seeing close to 50,000 people at a South Dakota State University athletic contest. I don't think that has ever happened before.

I hear you. I am happy for all of you that are going down to Ames. I have talked to quite a lot of people that are going and am impressed with the interest in the program at this juncture.

In the absence of a trip to Ames though, the gathering at Nutty's will be pretty cool too. We'll be watching on the tube, wishing we were there.

Next up will be the day when we can get 50,000 at the new SDSU football stadium (Daktronics Field at First Premier Bank Stadium - anyone?).

Called Cubby's today. They said the cable guy was there today and they are pretty sure they will have the game but won't know for sure until next week sometime.

I've been trying to find out if a local establishment will have the game on. The bartender said they have Direct-TV will all kinds of NFL and college football plans purchased. Does anybody know the exact channel the game will be on for Direct-tv or know of an easy way to find out for sure if they have the channel in their line up? Thanks!
