    Re: New polls out today

Youngstown St. is at 12 with a 7-4 record but they did beat us.

      Re: New polls out today

There were 8 at-large teams selected for the playoffs and the lowest GPI team was Eastern Illinois with a GPI of 37! SDSU ended at 13 and NDSU at 3. I can't wait for next year, our linebackers were young and played very well.

We maybe could be a slot or two higher, but we're in the ballpark as far as where we should be. No use arguing we should be ahead of Youngstown State or Georgia Southern, that's for sure. We have the same records and they both beat us -- non-1AA teams on their schedule or not. We'll finish higher at season's end if we start figuring out how to open with something other than three losses. That being said, though, here's the obvious observation of the day: We were a lot better team at the end of the year than at the start. Hopefully we both start and finish strong next year.

UNH has fallen to several teams in the CAA. They didn't come close to winning the CAA North. They have also lost more lately. The selection committee looks at how you've done lately, and against what type of competition. That's after looking at 7 D-I wins, and about the 4 losses.

UNH is the FIRST 4 loss team EVER SELECTED. Being the 5 team out of the CAA, they would have jumped to have the Great West represented instead.

I think, as the GWFC champ, we may have even gotten the nod over the EIU 2nd place OVC winner, who has no quality wins OOC.
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!
