Last week we had a field goal blocked right before halftime and Stig said his team felt like they had lost when they got in the locker room. I can see going out on a high (the defensive stop) and coming back in the second half feeling good.
Very much a Stig kind of coaching move, and he knows that team better than any of us do. No need to push it and make a mistake that makes you feel bad at halftime.
Holding this team to 10 in a half is a big victory.
Great effort by the D. That's the sort of play that we might look back to later and say it was the difference in the game.
Agreed, good 1st half. Defense can make some adjustments at the half. Cover that tight end in the middle of the field and get some pressure on the roll outs and I think we can distance ourselves in the 2nd half.
An ardent supporter of the hometown team should go to a game prepared to take offense, no matter what happens.Robert Benchley US actor, author, & humorist (1889 - 1945)
I'm hoping our big offensive line can wear UCA's defense down a bit so we can just keep Nathan Brown off the field more in the second half. All-in-all, you have to be pretty darned happy with that half of football. We can't afford a let down. I don't think you can just hang on like we did last week against this offense.
Illinois State got beat by Missouri State last month. I watched Missouri State get crushed by UNI today. Illinois State can't be very good if they lost to what appeared to be a very bad Missouri State team that I saw today.
