First 2007 GPI rankings out

The first of the 2007 GPI rankings is out. This is the one that combines 7 computer rankings and three polls. The Jacks come in at number 19. Georgia Southern is ranked number 40.

This is actually the poll that I personally think is the most accurate, but don't tell that to some people over at AGS, especially fans of the Patriot, and Pioneer Leagues.

It's like the Sagarin Rankings which a lot of people don't like, but last year during the SDSU Women's Basketball run, it played out very accurately of the teams we beat and the teams that beat us...which weren't many!!!

But of course....you still have to play the game, especially in D-1!

Jeff Sagarin has us at 118. We are the 16th FCS team on his list.

I see that Sagarin has NDSU at #62 and Minnesota at #79. If the Gophers manage to win, would it be an upset?

If there is a line on this game and NDSU isn't favored by at least 3, I would be very surprised. Heck, I'd actually be surprised if it isn't 7 points.

Montana wouldn't have to worry about trying to make everyone believe how bad of an indicator it is, if they would go out and play some decent OCC competition.

I know, novel idea, eyh?

Play somebody OC this year and its not a concern. Time will tell.
