I'm giving rep points to Jacks-02 for some good, concise analysis. This team has to be the best 2-3 FCS team in the country (soon to be 3-3, 4-3, 5-3 etc etc.)

I really like the way we're turning this season around. The D dominates, and the offense is really beginning to click. Assuming we can stay healthy through the remainder of the year and not have a let down (go 1-0 every week, as they say), I see no reason why we won't be playing NDSU for the conference title come November 17.

The most impressive stat to me is your average home attendance... it just keeps on growing! Pretty impressive for a team that didn't start out so hot - that's a nice indicator that your base of support is pretty solid.

What's the record average attendance at SDSU anyway? I couldn't find it in the media guide.

Tony: I agree with your comment that the attendance stats and the clear trend they show, are impressive. I think last year taught the fans that a 0-3 start, while certainly disappointing, is not cause for despair.

I, too, could not find a lot of stats on attendance at Coughlin Alumni Stadium but one thing is certain: the crowds are growing every season and almost every game. This year should be the best average attendance...that's a 'record' we change every year.

We have three home games left including the final game against NDSU on November 17. I hope to see a new record attendance. I know the Bison will bring a huge crowd and with the local support we've had, it could be an overflow situation, even if the weather gets a little dicey.

Tony has been looking through the media guide. If you haven't looked through the guide, and then updated the information with crowds from this season, here's the current list -- the top seven games in attendance:

          16,193, 10-189-85 South Dakota W, 24-12
          15,866 10-18-1975 South Dakota W, 24-22
          15,338 09-29-2007 Stephan F. Austin W 45-0
          15,248 10-28-2006 UC Davis W, 22-21
          15,193 10-22-1977 South Dakota L, 10-15
          14,920 10-22-2007 Texas State W 38-3
          14,503 10-22-2005 Missouri-Rolla W, 64-28

This year's win over against Texas State was played before the largest non-Hobo Day crowd ever.

The real test now is to see where the attendance goes from here. Hopefully, we'll continue to see crowds of 10k plus for the remainder of the season.
