    Score prediction time:

Jacks win because they have to and because they are at home, but it's close.

FYI For Those Attending The Game

22nd Ave. from 6th St. to roughly the entrance to campus off 22nd is torn up with road work. No idea how long it is going to be but I would recommend trying to bypass 22nd Ave. Saturday.

        Re: Texas State

I see in this week's football release, our punter has changed his number from 99 to 51. (I'm not obsessed, there was a blurb in the "of interest" section stating such.) I am 100% serious as a heart attack when I say this can only mean good things. It was obvious to me that he was simply uncomfortable in the game situations. Everyone involved said he can really kick in practice. Comfort level is a big thing. Superstition is a big thing. I, for one, am expecting big things after the number change for our punting. I already have my "now, that's what I'm talking about" posting ready to go to cut and paste into the end of this game thread singing the praises of Mr. Priddy. Again, I'm 100% serious. I think this can only help. 45 yards per punt? Done. I'm ready to sing your praises, fellow Jackrabbit. Show us what you can do!

He actually changed it after the first game, so he has been wearing 51 for the last two games. Maybe, now that it is official, he'll kick the ball better. I hope for our sake he does.

Sounds like the weather is going to be beautiful!!! 80 degrees, sunshine, little wind. I'll be in the backyard at 2:00 sharp. Cowbells, kids, beef bowl barbecue, and Jacks football perfect Saturday.

Did you see Priddy kick at halftime last week? Boomed the heck out of it every time. In his coach's show this week, Stig blamed the coaches for putting pressure on him to kick away from UNI's returner. Stig said it would probably be smarter just to let the kid kick without worrying about where it goes, other than far.

              Re: Texas State

Priddy's first kick was a shank, which into the wind is especially not good. But it was clear to us that he was kicking it out of bounds on the following punts, so figured they didn't want to put it in the hands of the kick returner. While they weren't great, they weren't all bad and the one kick down the field was great. I'm not sure I remember well enough the first couple of kicks for Neal Bainbridge, but he became an outstanding punter. Here's hoping Dean Priddy can step it up as well.

IF I do remember correctly Neal was fairly inconsistent early in his first year. Hopefully Dean will turn into the weapon that Neal was.

                  Re: Texas State

Terry V picked us to lose in The Bottom Line this week on the Great West website. Of the "expert" columnists polled, he was the only guy to pick us to lose...and the only guy to cover the Jacks on a weekly basis. I feel like someone just kicked my dog. Or for a more obscure reference, I feel like I'm William Wallace and I just pulled the helmet off of Robert the Bruce. Overdramatic? Perhaps. I know its the beef bowl, but here's hoping they can find a spot on the bar-b-que spit for a nice big helping of roasted crow.

Sounds like the weather is not going to be quite as nice as they were saying earlier this week. Latest forecast suggests 75 degrees and 20-30 mph south winds. Low in the upper 50's. Much nice than last weekend but not 80 and calm like they had been saying.

Kind of interesting but Jeff Culhane thinks SDSU is better than the 0-3 record. I expected some put down, but for the most part he respected the program at SDSU.

I am praying for a big win this weekend, we need one and I am not that religious but feel the need for a win.
Big Howdy from Texas, Jacks fans. It's been a while since I've been to the Jacks fan site. You're right about Big George, he played semi-pro baseball for a while. I remember his freshman year, he was new to San Marcos and had one of the coaching staff help him find a home to buy - not your typical new student. Wish I had had that kind of money in the bank when I was a freshman. Anyway, good luck to your Jacks.

Has the video feed from GoJacks started yet? I don't think it's working for me so I'm just checking. Thanks.

No luck on my end either. It's just a black screen. They better get it figured out in the next 13 minutes!
