    Jacks #2 in MVFC Pre-Season Poll

    The Jackrabbits are ranked #2 in the MVFC pre-season poll. The pollsters are the 10 head coaches, sports information directors and "select media".

    Zimmer announced his MVFC ballot 2 or 3 weeks ago. He voted: 1. NDSU; 2. USD; and 3. SDSU.

    So, we're not getting overlooked. Some fans may think we're overrated. My opinion: on paper, we have a more experienced coaching staff that we had last year. I think that will be proved on the field. We returned a core group of guys that have a point to prove and the ability to prove it behind the leadership of Chase Mason and Q Chrisensen and others. We recruited some impressive freshmen and, in addition to the freshmen, I think there are several examples of why we won't complain about the transfer portal this year: SDSU had 'opportunity' written all over it after the first of the year and guys we looking for such an opportunity to show what they can do.

    I am not surprised to see the Jacks in the 2nd spot. NDSU deserves to be at the top, but I think USD would have been the #2 team if not for their late losses to the portal in the spring.

    For the Jacks, there are obviously some questions and some spots that are not as deep or are lacking on field proven production, but I like our chances. Starting with actually a lot of experience in the offensive line is a great place to start. They have to jell together a new group but if they are able to do so that will be a good basis for a successful season.

      Its a real credit to our athletic department and admin that we'd be picked that high given all that has transpired since our team last took a snap. At the same time, it's an indictment to some extent, of the other programs in the league. I believe we have the infrastructure in place to be consistently one of the top teams in the league and subdivision, come what may.
