  • Jacks Players in Sam Herder's Preseason Rankings by Position

Jacks represented fairly well in Sam Herder's Top 35 FCS OL rankings (Nate Adams at #24 and Quinten Christensen at #7), with Mason mentioned as having potential to be Top 15 FCS QB (he wasn't ranked due to limited snaps thus far in career). Christensen was the top-ranked Valley OL.

Jacks should also be represented in "top" RB list with Loughridge, who should be top 10 overall, and likely top two in Valley (dependent on Herder's ranking for 'Yotely Pierre).

Sam Hagen should be above Adams in my opinion. If Big Bow and Paepke can take steps forward along with Willenbring, we will be top 3 offense in FCS.

Defensive line is where my concern lies.

It will be interesting to see how that shakes out. I expect at least Clayborne could be listed in Herder's eventual DL rankings.

Clayborne, Green, Ripperda and Kirschenman will be fine as starters. The question is who will step up as help in the rotation.

Coach Jackson mentioned Sifore as player to watch during DM soiree. It'd be awesome if that panned out

Loughridge clocks in at #6 on RB list. 'Yotes' Pierre ranked #1

I completely forgot Aaron Wolfcale-Holsten, who played a lot at DT and is starter quality as well. We also added a portal player who started at Sac State.

I'm curious about the DL rotation.

I'm also trying to figure out Sam Herder's "list release" rotation. He started with QBs, which is understandable, but then he went to LBs, followed by OL, and RBs.

I thought he might release the DL list after OL to maintain an alternating offense vs defense "schedule"

Sam Herder with a ranking "deep cut" for the top #82 (Jacks TE Coleman Kuntz), who isn't even formally listed on roster yet

Sam Hagen is the second SDSU player appearing in Sam Herder's FCS Jersey Countdown at #76.

No surprise who Herder chose to represent #69 in his Jersey Countdown (Quinten Christensen).
