  • Poll: Early predictions on the start of the Dan Jackson era.

I think it may be time to start speculating, guessing, and even predicting with confidence, the regular-season win-loss record for year one of the Dan Jackson. We'll play 7 home games in the 12-game regular season, We play Montana State in Bozeman...and NDSU in Brookings.

    58.62%
    17

    3.45%
    1
Under .500 (this is where fans of others schools may vote ;) )

    The poll is expired.

If anyone votes "sub .500," they should be forced to have beef tallow White Claw "floats" for the rest of their lives. Any word on potential portal additions alluded to during the Difference Makers meeting on 5/13?

Jacks will be on ESPN network for Marker Game on 10/25 and versus 'Yotes on 11/8.

Could Marker entice College Gameday more than 'bama-South Carolina in Oct?

"Interstate" game will be up against LSU-Tide that week, so that'd seem less likely.

On 5/28/25, Sam Herder published his pre-season Top-25 FCS teams. His top five: NDSU, Montana State; SDSU; USD and UIW.

That is actually the results of a group poll made up of Sam, Kevin Marshall, Zach McKinnell and Jamie Williams, who are four of the most respected FCS pundits. Gives reason for some optimism going into the summer.

Thanks, bigticket1, for the clarification on the group poll.

The MVFC teams in the poll are:

            1. NDSU
            3. SDSU
            4. USD
Tied for 7. Illinois State (tied with Montana)
            16. Southern Illinois
Eight other teams were listed as receiving votes which were ordered from most voting point to least...on that list was UND in fourth position.

Based on some of the stuff I read last season the short era of the occasional FCS GameDay stop are probably over. Too bad but probably not happening.
