    12/02/2023 SDSU vs Mercer - 10,171 attendance
    12/09/2023 SDSU vs Villanova - 10,216 attendance
    12/15/2023 SDSU vs UAlbany - 12, 265 attendance

Trust me I would love to see 15,000 and more in DJDS for this week's game and I am as always recruiting people I know to experience SDSU playoff football. But I don't think we should be dissappointed in 12 - 13,000.

I guess I'm hoping lower ticket prices will add at least a couple thousand.

Good job getting the temperature marks for these games. Intersting to me that even after removing the 3 springs season games, only 5 of 13 SDSU home playoff games have been below 32 degrees.

Also our actual playoff history and the building of postseason attendance started just 2 years ago in the 2022 season. That was the first time that we had the expectation to host multiple playoff games and fans really started making memories watching SDSU playoff football. I think our attendance will take a good step forward again this season and establish playoff football in Brookings as a tradition for year to come.

To get the really good crowd, the students will have to show out like they did through the USD game. Hopefully the good weather plus everyone going home last weekend brings out the big numbers.

In looking back through the playoff history I am reminded of our playoff history with Montana beyond our recent history beating the Grizzlies in the title game last year. In 2009, the SDSU lost a first round play off game 61-48 in Missoula in Jimmy Rogers' last year playing for the Jackrabbits and ended his career. Then in 2015, we were again matched with Montana in Missoula in the first round, falling 24-17 in Rogers' thrid year as linebackers coach.

Coach Rogers and the team will be ready to finally meet the Grizzlies in Brookings on Saturday and return the favor.

I am counting on this, and I'm looking forward to maximizing noise to try to help ensure it happens

                We don't talk about 2009....

It's a bad one to talk about, but at the same time I feel like that was a game that elevated our program.
                  • First FCS playoff game
                  • Gave a sense of "we belong" in this league of playoff teams, but also let us know that "we have a long ways to go to become a top dawg."
                  • Showed us what an electric atmosphere, importance of home field in playoffs, crowd support, school support, financial support can do for a program and helped SDSU set a goal of what they want. It took the next decade to slowly get the plan in place and cemented in place around 2020, IMO.
                  • Just like all the NDSU games we lost from 2010-2020 or so. Each one of those was pivotal moment for our program and let us know that we are close but not there. If NDSU is not/was not the program that they were/are, then SDSU is also not the program that we are. I don't think SDSU has 2 national championships (or even deep playoff runs) without NDSU being the powerhouse they are. Can't settle for mediocrity and to be the best you have to beat the best.

I see some others have wondered about who might be back from injury for the Montana game.

On Jimmie Rodgers weekly press conference…he talked about some of the players who had gotten us here… Even Gannon and Goering, but nothing about if they were going to be back from injury. Those two are not listed on the depth chart although Chase Mason is.

It’s going to be a big deal as we get deeper into the playoff run… Which teams are the healthiest when it gets down to the nitty-gritty and winning those games!!
