I've been baffled by play calls in a few games, but they're averaging nearly 8yds/play, so I think it's alright to admit they've called a great game

The Amar as Chase Mason play calling was indeed very puzzling, and deserved critique. Happy to see they abandoned that and just played good ol regular football.

I think Griffin gets the nod as OPOG, though Angel is certainly right there. Mark has had a great game, as has the o-line, and entire defense of course!

Wrap this thing up here! Romfo still unter center. 6 minutes to go.

Per Merriam... Jacks have more yards on 1st down than the Hawks have total. That does seem like a positive!

Does Henry become the third string QB if Thue is OOC?

Uneventful 4th quarter as both teams just bleed the clock.

            38-7. Final. Jackrabbits Win.

Great game. Offense looked good, great at times. Defense looked great nearly the entire time.

Happy to be done playing there for a couple years. UND's 104-3 record at home (hyperbole) the past 3 years gets knocked down a notch. Good game, Jacks!

SIU gets a huge comeback win over Youngstown State 37-33 after being down 28-0. Salukis come to Brookings next week.

Aren't Jacks back there to close out next regular season?

Yep... Good catch. I hadn't reviewed the 2025 schedule and wrongly assumed it would continue the pattern. You know what they say about assuming....

Feels kinda rude to make us go back there in back-to-back seasons... We of course drop Missouri State, but pick up both ISUr/b at home next year. All other Valley opponents flip home/away as usual.

I hear ya ticket, but we have been believers in using our best players on special teams for a long LONG time

other teams treat special teams like the least important part of the game. we have long understood that even though there are only 5-10 plays a game on special teams, those few plays have HUGE potential to be game changing plays

if not Tucker, it has been Beanum who is very likely an NFL player and arguably the best corner in the MVFC

one other thing, I imagine that if Tucker believes he is healthy, he has been PUSHING to get back to returning punts- he is kind of a go getter

and Finally, the AMAZING depth of this team just keeps showing up!! Huerter goes out. Durrance comes in and makes a bunch of plays. the coaches deserve a LOT of credit for being able to recruit GREAT players into an environment where they might not start quickly!!! also I am not sure any team does a better job of improving the players they get!! AND the players deserve a ton of credit for working so hard to get better even when they are playing a backup role and for being ready to answer when they get called to play!!

not sure I understand the frustration with giving Amar a shot in the wildcat role?
very obviously we used Isaiah in that role the last couple years (or more). I am pretty sure we also used Pierre and Zenner in that role. some might debate it, but Amar IS our #1 RB. YES, we have been using the wildcat as a way to get our incredible talented "backup" QB opportunities

but with Mason out for a bit, we decided to go back to the more traditional concept of using an RB as the wildcat QB. it did not work out too well in the 2-3 plays they tried it today. they put it on the shelf. pretty common to go into a game with a desire to try some things early and see what kind of results you can get. then you stick with what works and build from there.

they tried the wildcat as a way to get additional looks for our top RB. it had no success but running off tackle and the passing game looked good. so they stop using the wildcat for today

does that mean the OC is dumb for trying it? i am not sure i understand why that would be the takeaway

That worked for me when we had four starting quality safeties available, but not when we're down to two.

On a related note, I wish the Jacks would add future schedules to their website like conference foes have.

is something wrong with Jack Henry? I was more than a little surprised to see Thue in the game. I thought Henry was the top QB recruit in that class, not to mention, Amer, from the previous recruiting class. has Thue actually passed everyone to be the #4 behind Mark, Mason, and Bell?

again. i am DEFINITELY NOT saying you are wrong. but if it is not him it is our #1 CB. i know we have more depth at CB, but do we really want to risk losing Beanum? at the end of the day, our coaches have done a pretty good job of making the correct choices for this program, so...

I am saying I get scared about losing a key player on special teams too, but I also am happy that they take special teams seriously. they have made the decision that the benefit is worth the price they pay for it. I think over the last LONG TIME (20-25 years? or more?), they have been proven correct

one other thing, I am not even sure who our #5 safety is, but we do have a TON of stud LBs who can barely sniff the field. I would bet that at least a few of them have been trained in the Stahlbird role of being able to play both LB and Safety- I actually kind of think Mcgaughy was recruited as a DB

oh yeah, Tillford is the next safety. he already looks pretty good too

again, WOW wow wow, this team is absolutely loaded with talented players who have proven they are willing to work hard and be part of a great team, as opposed to going to a lesser program and being THE GUY. this team and these coaches deserve SO MUCH appreciation!!!!!!
