A little perspective. Beginning with the Mike Daly era in 1991, South Dakota State University began placing significant resources into the football program. At that time, USD was fairly dominant in our rivalry and held a 46/35/7 record against us. Since 1991, we have had a 22 win and 6 loss record with them. Thus, the all-time record stands at 58/52/7. Rivalry games are always difficult, regardless of team records. Monday morning quarterbacking and second-guessing is what passionate fans do. All I know is that I'd rather be us than them.

I'm a fan of the Jacks' remaining schedule because they should be able to recalibrate versus Racers, ramp up versus Hawks, gain confidence versus Salukis and face stiffer road test versus Bears.

29 passes and 3 wre to TE's
WR's drop balls (except Wilde)
The QB's are the power RB's. 4th and 1- put the QB under center and use a TE to help push him forward
Kick the opening kickoff out-of-bounds (with the wind) instead of through the endzone
Bad snap on a FG. That is a missed FG two weeks in a row( 50+ is understandable) and blocked PAT in 2 weeks
The QB looks down the field (briefly) and then immediatly passes to the flat most of the time.
I don't remember if the 7 offensive linemen lining up in a straight line worked at all this season. If you put one of them (or have a TE- who can block) in the backfield to lead thm through the hole, I might like it better.
SDSU played two really good teams in back-to-backs and played them both tough while struggling on offense and special teams. Hopefully they can improve in those two phases between now and playoff time.

If so, he should give up play calling duties and focus on the O Line, let Freund handle play calling. He has history showing he can call a great game.

The officiating crew sure had trouble spotting the ball. The Jacks appeared to be the victim of two, terrible spots.
The game was kind of ugly in other respects, too, but ultimately it was a good, crucial win for the Jacks.
The Yolks-Cows game late in the season should be interesting. This space for lease.

I read some post-game Yotes discussion. I think the Yotes fans have already forgotten that their offense scored one TD. They rushed for 82 yards for the game. Certainly USD should be a part of the discussion about the top FCS teams but the better team won last night.

I think Mark G played really well on Saturday. The numbers weren't huge but in these top 5 matchups the numbers are often lower. I thought he stood in the pocket mostly and delivered the ball with confidence. Yes there were a couple drops but there were also some good hits by USD secondary to dislodge a few
Hard fought game. Brutal 2 weeks. It would have of course been nice to win in Fargo as well but we are through it and this team has room to grow. I look forward to the rest of the season and if we get a chance to move back up to a top 2 seed. This is out of our control though as it would take an NDSU and/or Montana State loss, so just need to keep getting better and be build toward the playoffs. The Zen philosopher Basha once wrote, 'A flute with no holes, is not a flute. Could the offense perform better? Of course, and I expect the offense will. What I am saying is the opposing teams had much to do with the offensive performance. And, after losing the best RB, 2 of the best WRs, a TE and 2 of the best OL in FCS (from an offense that was arguably the best offense seen in FCS), this offense is doing pretty well. Again, it could be better. But atrocious? Not really. You know that you're over the hill when your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill. - L. George

In both of the last two games SDSU's offense performed better than their opponent with the exception of points scored by NDSU (which may have been affected by a bad call on the 2 yd line in the 4th qtr, just sayin').
