The Danes turn it over on downs and give the Jacks' offense a short field, resulting in a Hunter Dustman FG attempt, which is good.

    59-0.... you know by now.

A few thoughts. I think the game last weekend vs. Villanova was a wake up that focused the Jackrabbits. They came out focused and sharp with a good game plan from Lujan and Bobbit. Gronwoski out played Poffenbarger with only 19 throws. Isaiah was a force that could not be answered. The O-line gave both plenty of time and room for the backs and receivers to work. The defense, oh my, they showed U Albany what a real run defense looked like. Meanwhile they were in bend don't break mode against the Great Dane passing game. Tucker's punt return and Jadon's TD catch were things of beauty to tie a nice bow on the package. Well played.

This right here. I love how the whole crowd stayed and everyone leaped to their feet on the first note.

What a team. Don’t take this for granted.

This has been the pattern all season. Didn't play great at Southern Illinois, came back and pummeled JSD. Same with Missouri State and Mercer, and again last night.

Props to Dakota News Now and Mark Ovenden for having a live and lengthy broadcast at the end of the game. Props, too, for the Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band. They are fantastic and add so much to the atmosphere of the game. Finally, props to all the fans who were there and saw something really special. Loud and proud.

Not sure we could have played any better last night. I mean a 50-yard field goal was blocked, but that's some serious knit-picking. That team, and the seniors especially, were just not going to be denied last night. And the fans stuck around until the end and had a hell of a good time. Just about a perfect night on all fronts.
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!

                          SDSU 59. UAlbany 0.
Wow! When two good football teams meet on the field but one is having a near perfect game while the other seems snakebit, you can get results like we saw last night. That was a very good UA team that earned and deserved being in the top four of all FCS teams. Certainly the Jacks had a heckuva lot to do with disrupting the Danes’ plans that had carried them to the semi-final game. It just wasn’t a good matchup from the start.

Hats off to Coach Rogers and his staff for exemplary game prep and execution. And hats off to the players. They are on a mission. The one-game mantra has until now discouraged the Jackrabbits from talking out loud about winning a second championship. But now we are at the final One Game and the Jacks are playing championship-caliber football.

Congrats to a great UA team on a fantastic season They had been pre-season picked to finish 11th in the CAA.

I am waiting to see if SDSU still has the "one-game mantra". Coach Rodgers says that going to Frisco is the "standard". It seems like his linebacker confidence/attitude might stick with him as a coach. There have been several times this season where the players play until the last sound of the whistle. At halftime last night, #23 and #25 were chirping at the Albany players while they were walking to their locker room. The Albany players might have said something to start it but SDSU was up 35-0 and they had to finish it. The officials were walking there to separate them.

It was about as complete a game as SDSU can play. If they play like that in Frisco, they win big again.

Zach Borg (also from Dakota News Now) should be mentioned by name also. He has really stepped up SDSU coverage big tjme over the past 2 seasons. He’s joining JI for another live show tonight after the semifinal game.

Coach Rogers pondered whether there have been two playoff shutouts by one team in a single season during the postgame presser.

I believe the Griz had shutouts in back-to-back Wa-Griz games in 1995 (48-0 vs. EKU & 45-0 vs. Georgia Southern) [pg. 25].

I'm hoping for a Shutout Duo Matchup in Frisco where the Jacks exorcise the '09 demons in front of a national audience.
