Good start to 2nd half. A 3 and out by the D would take a lot of starch out of Bison collars.

A defensive 3 and out sandwiched between a bad and good special teams play (give up a long kick return, block a FG). Nice hold on our part!

Spalding had the pick with a club on one "paw." Very impressive play

What a fun day. The weather was great, the tailgate was hopping and the crowd was into the game. I would love to see a huge crowd to finish off the regular season.

As far as the game, I thought our D would hold them in check a bit more, but a double digit victory against the Bison works for me. We struggled with tackling today. Lots of missed tackles by first responders and Cam is quick enough to make us pay. Special teams did a good job. Dustman is looking very comfortable the last couple of games. He hammered that 44 yarder. Go Jacks!

The Bison defense I thought played us better than any other team in a long time inside the red zone. Gave them a shot, but their offense is just not built to play from more than a score behind.

Combined rant and rave -- I'm tired of the Ungulates' lamentations about the number of 6th year seniors (by both Fargo media and Entz), as if they didn't have the same opportunity to keep their players. First, it's not the Jacks' fault NDSU had players bolt for the portal.

Second, which doubles as the "rave" -- the Jacks were confronted with circumstances over a decade ago that represented an inflection point in the program's development. They could either adapt and consistently recruit the athletes necessary to compete with, and ultimately vanquish NDSU, or they could whine about having to play future NFL QBs, WRs, and OL.

It's obvious that Stig's and his staff's decisions have not only contributed to the Jacks' supremacy, they have also fostered a culture where players like Gales feel empowered to bring players like Freeman to the team. Moreover, "independent" transfers like Stalbird are vital contributors.

It's ironic that folks in Fargo (mostly media at this point) are now wondering if the Bison would even want players who would be their 6th year seniors to return next season (and frustratingly whether Jacks will be as good next season and whether players like Gronowski will transfer)

Good catch! I thought I spotted the falg but wasn't entirely focused on College Game Day yesterday...nice job getting the pictures. I wonder who the Jacks fan was that carried the flag.

Championships are wonderful (especially for ticket sales this year), facilities are important, but if you want to build a program, you need to develop a positive culture. And right now, the Jacks have done that with Stig and seem to be maintaining it with Rogers.

NDSU on the other hand, seems to have wavered in that area. Whether it’s the unrealistic expectations of winning championships every year, toxic fan bases, or an attitude of “I’m too good for this place”, the Bison seemed to have lost their way, at least this season.

Programs will have up and down seasons. The defining sign for NDSU will be how they respond next season, especially if they miss out on the playoffs. Of course, that’s a mighty big “IF”.

I'm fine with them missing the playoffs, even though that would mean UNI and SIU winning the next couple weeks.

I'm interested in how the people who were asserting that NDSU's dominance was "bad for the FCS" a couple years ago would view them missing the playoffs.
