Never know which Saluki team is going to show up. I've felt over the last half decade that SIU has the greatest deviance between their ceiling and their floor in the Valley, and sometimes you can see them hit both in the same game.

The Salukis are hanging their hat on the rush defense. Holding the Jackrabbits backs to less than 100 yards will be a big order. They also have a load of interceptions when the rush defense is successful. I am hoping for another 40 point game from the Jackrabbits and that may be enough.

I think the risk of that is low, but we shall see.

They've faced one team that currently has a winning record (Austin Peay at 4-2), so I'm taking their defensive rankings with a grain of salt, and I'm very interested in seeing how their vaunted defense responds to a top offense in FCS fotball.

As for the Salukis' offense, they definitely have impressive skill players, but again, let's see how they do versus the Jacks' defense.

Jacks turn the Sakukis over on downs on their first possession. Great stop on 4th and 1 after almost recovering a fumble on the previous play.

Yah, that was the kind of calls you'd make to try to get an inexperienced QB comfortable, not for a veteran like Gronowski.

Hopefully offensive series #2 will yield more fruit.
