Bison like performance was the goal and the team has a good shot of taking it all the way. If my comment offended the MSU fans so be it. I am hoping MSU improves and pushes the SDSU team next year. Complacency leads to lowered performance. Adversity pushes good teams to new heights.
Oh, I'm with you regarding frustration with the crowing about the MSU offense. However, it wasn't just MSU fans; we had posters on this forum "doom & gloomin'" after Sluka's performance.

I don't care to abide by the Bisonesque nicknaming of stifled offensive player performance. I hate that program and fans who bandy about the "Zenner" yardage insult, "home of the Bison" during the National Anthem, etc.

Yeah, I watched again and he said "doesn't" and then added only instead of just saying he has the skillset.

      • That was by far the most fun I have had at a game. We were surrounded by Bobcats fans on the sunny side. Tons of fun. They were loud, slammed Fireball, and complimented the Jacks as they left. Nothing obnoxious. No Zenner as a distance comments, no yelling during the national anthem, no screaming punt team after third down. Just cheered their team and had fun.

I am really looking forward to playing the Bison to win it all. They are the gold standard and wining a natty without beating them in the playoffs would be disappointing. Time to get that monkey off of our backs. Go Jacks!!

        • Yesterday was a great day to be a Jacks fan. I’ve always liked Montana State and usually cheer for them to do well. They’re a land grant and we share a lot in common. But their fans (many, not all) the week leading up to the game were so arrogant, and most have been flat out pathetic after the loss. Excuses, in order are:

          1) Snowy field/too cold (Yes, this is actually a common excuse on their board)
          2) Seeding. They should have hosted a semifinal
          3) Chambers going out. Clearly, he would have helped their D…not.
          4) Dirty play by the Jacks to injure their players
          5) Blizzard impacting travel for the team, even though they left and arrived exactly when planned.
          6) Their 6,000 fans that they were SURE would come to Brookings couldn’t make it, thus the flat performance.
          7) Tommy not wearing sleeves
          8) Cowbells…

Again, I like MSU and their fans (or at least I did). But man, they talked SO MUCH ****…..and got their doors blown off yesterday. And many of their fans can’t even just admit they got beat soundly by a better team on the road. It had to be some other reason out of their control.

It’s been both pathetic and delightful to watch if I’m being honest. I honestly can’t believe they would make excuses about the field a week after they reamed William and Mary fans for claims that the icy field in Bozeman gave the cats an unfair advantage.

I also saw the officials. Made me laugh. That game had nothing to do with the officiating. Bye, bye Cats. Bring on the Bison. I look forward to heading to Frisco to cheer on the Rabbits!

On the Dan Patrick Show this morning a Cats fan called in with his worst from the weekend. The Cats losing on a skating rink in Brookings, SD. Fans will be fans but your team got beat. If I recall the surface in Bozeman wasn’t the best last year and I saw a guy in the William & Mary game slide 10 yards after being tackled. Enough already. 39-18. Bye, bye Cats!

Saturday was the most fun I’ve had at a sporting event in a long time. The crowd was great. The team was better. This is a very deserving crew. I believe they get it done in three weeks. 27-14 SDSU.

            Go Rabbits!

            • The day after the game, I read the 'Cats message board and I came away thinkig their fans were pretty realistic about the outcome of the came. Their pre-game optimism was based on some solid evidence. They have a young team and its future is bright. Several MSU fans were complimentary and several said "we got beat by a better team". I thought there was very little excuses offered for the loss.

Like 6-4-3 Jackrabbits, I thought that was one of the most entertaining games I've attended. I've been at all of the D1 FCS home playoff games and the cold-weather fans are a blast. Our challenge is to reach a point at which most of the fans in a sellout crowd behave like the fans at Saturday's game.

Switching gears a little: My visit to the MSU forum brought some new appreciate for fan humor. There are some very funny 'Cats fans. Here's a few examples:

One poster, recalling a terribly cold game in 1985, wrote he "had so many coats, blankets and head coverings on I probably looked like a pile of laundry." (Helcat72 in the thread "The Weather Outside if Frig htful")

Here's a comment about a flyover before Saturday's game in Brookings: "It was just announced that the flyover for Saturday's game has been canceled and will instread be replaced by 4 snow plow trucks driving past the stadium during the National Anthem." (GoCats18 in the thread "The Weather Outside is Frightful").

Here's an example of a poster making no excuses...he got the urge to post after visiting the UM Griz message board: "...there is a poll going (on the Griz board) to where we will place the blame on today's loss. I have to commend a few posters that are not buying what some are selling there. Each time I go there I dislike many on that site more and more. We just plain got beat. Today is a new lesson to be learned." (RickRund in the thread "Bobcat OL".)

              • I just thawed out, but Saturday was probably the best complete game of Jackrabbit football I have ever seen. An excellent performance. Replicate that and good things will happen against the 'Zon.
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!
