Really hope the Hen QB is okay. It wasn't a malicious hit, but definitely unnecessary.

Bad way to end a good game. Prayers for that young man.

There is at least one news article saying that when the young man left the field that he was responsive and moving all extremities.

Delaware football put out an update that did say he was moving and alert.

Too bad the Delaware fans never saw the play and think it was targeting. It was not targeting in the least, unnecessary roughness yes, targeting, not even close.

What Zimmer's guy says is pretty much the same thing I saw. Yes, penalty, no, not targeting.

Pretty easy to criticize from a recliner. Stuff happens pretty damn fast on the field.

Malicious as can be. That kid should be off the team and taken out back and educated.

If it would have been malicious, he would have went helmet to helmet. His shoulder hit his chest. Watch the replay.

Up by 40 points with a minute to go. Justify it in your head all you can, it was a cheap shot. Your team is getting a terrible reputation for this kind of crap.
I lost some respect for this team today.

I understand that the violence of tackle football can be hard to watch at times. Fortunately the young man is apparently recovering.
As far as the reputation of the peogram, you are obviously very much uneducated on that point.

Really? You may want to do a little poking around social media to see what people think about your program.

                            It's a play/outcome I never want to witness again.

I'm not even going to engage in a debate about a player's intent, but I'll say this, whomever controls the in-game music needs to consider not playing anything when emergency medical personnel are attempting to respond to an injury.

Not only did it potentially impede their communication, there were at least a half dozen Delaware fans on the east side screaming to turn off the music, so it risked confrontations among fans.

I am glad O'Connor seems to be recovering, and I hope that continues

                              How, exactly, was it malicious?

What made it malicious? Did he go helmet to helmet? Should he have just stopped when he saw the QB trying to make a play? Did he tell you that he didn’t like the QB?
The FACT is it was a football play. Believe it or not, 3rd string players go hard all the time trying to earn a spot. There was not a single player, coach or fan from SDSU who wished harm to him. If you think for one second his goal was to knock a player out…you are a fool. I’m your brain dead world, if a player throws a punch they should be kicked out of school?
Not sure why I would address your utter ignorance…but I decided to take the bait.
