Yes, and the Grizz will even have a 4/17 scrimmage against Portland State after a 4/10 scrimmage against DII Central Washington.

Indiana State did the responsible thing by opting out of the spring season before it started, not halfway through the season. The three contending teams that are losing opportunities to play Illinois State should be given victories by forfeit, not "no contests." And the losses should be reflected in Illinois State's permanent record. Why encourage other teams suffering a bad season to give up and walk away?

The Jacks are down to their fourth or fifth long snapper. If we lose another game, maybe we'd better opt out.

Again, at the end of the day does anyone really think that if you took their current roster situation and changed their record to 3-1 that they make this same decision? If you do, then you can listen to whatever BS excuse they publish in the paper to justify it and maybe lend some credence to it. I personally think if they are 3-1 they keep playing, so this is just a team quitting and selling it to the papers so some people feel there are actual “facts” behind the decision. I could care less what spin their coach is putting behind this.

On his radio show tonight, Stig mentioned that Spack called him before the announcement and said we are playing some walk ons at D line. So Spack admitted right there it was about the quality of player he could put out and not numbers in that comment.

ISuR can spin it how they want, but like everyone has said, if they have a good record then they play on like a normal year.

If they were opting out due to COVID, then a no contest seems fair. Since they are down due to injury, they need forfeit the games. It sucks for them, but COVID isn't their reason for withdrawing.

They're reportedly taking this week off and then beginning weight training with a break in May and practices resuming June 1.

Why would any programs be allowed to practice in June ? That's well after the championship game for the spring season, and after spring semester classes are over.

They're obviously not concerned with the Spring Championship schedule, and they seem to have followed a similar regimen last year.

Are you talking workouts or football practices?

I was merely repeating what the articles said. The most recent one indicated "voluntary workouts" would begin June 15, 2020, and the second indicated Spack said they'd "hit the ground running" on June 1 (2021)

Three Redbirds -- QB Baltz, WR Grimes, and S Hatfield have entered transfer portal.

There are probably more players that are not happy about ending the season early.

Another DB (Woods) entered transfer portal earlier. Their preseason Spring 2021 ranking may be the apex for that program for a couple seasons.

Yeah, I'd be happy adding Grimes and Woods. Good players.
