BEREA, Ohio (May 26, 2004) -- Tight end Steve Heiden signed a three-year contract extension with the Cleveland Browns, giving the team some depth behind rookie Kellen Winslow.
Heiden started in nine games last season before an ankle injury put him on the injured reserve list in early November. He posted career highs with 18 catches for 134 yards.
Heiden was a third-round pick by San Diego in 1999 and was acquired by the Browns in a trade in August 2002. He has 49 catches for 326 yards and three touchdowns in his five-year career.
