Listened to 1570 am this morning (Vermillion & Yankton station). They have a daily sports show from 9-11 am. You could call it a USD sports show - the host is a USD fan and USD is the usually the main topic.
However, every Tuesday during the season - Stig is a guest on the show. Good interview today. The host asked Stig his thoughts about UND and their plans. His response was with all the rumblings going on Grand Forks it is basically a question of when will UND go D1 and not if they will go D1. He also thought that if the NCC could go back a couple years - the vote on whether the entire NCC should go D1 or stay D2 would now be different especially given the success so far of NDSU and SDSU and possible reduction in D2 football scholarships.
The host was also entertaining today as he spent most of show lamenting the fact that USD football team could go 10-1 this year and still might not make the playoffs. A 9-2 season makes their playoff chances very unlikely. USD is currently ranked 10th in the region with 6 teams making the playoffs. All the cupcakes USD played this year is coming back to haunt them.
