Someone with more knowledge then me remind me how this years home attendance (total and average) compares to the last 5 years and the best year at SDSU. I have to believe this is as good as its been. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: 2004 Attendance
I heard today's attendance was the best Hobo-Day attendance since 1988...was stated on the post-game show. Did I hear that correctly? I said on another post that the crowd had to be 95% SDSU supporters so the attendance figure was all-the-more impressive. Just think if that many Jacks showed up when NDSU came to town...might have been the record.

Re: 2004 Attendance
Here is something very interesting and I challenge any media sources to comment on this years attendence and who is South Dakota's team
SDSU had 4 home games and USD had 6 games, with above average attendence, but guess what? SDSU outdrew USD in four home games, compared to the USD 6 home games.
Attendence as recorded at USD and SDSU offical sites
USD
PERU STATE 5512
MSU Morehead 4486
Wisc LaCrosse 5014
AUgie 9473
St Cloud 7537
UMD 6268
TOTAL 38290
SDSU
Winona 8718
Western Oregan 5227
NDSU 12323
AUGIE 13116
TOTAL 39384
SDSU OUT DREW USD IN JUST 4 GAMES. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Re: 2004 Attendance
I also mentioned this on the 2005 schedule thread:
I've head we are playing games in SF next year and they mentioned this on the radio yesterday. Anyone have any info on this?
I do know that SF was trying to get a State/USD game there, but that failed and were going to get some State games vs DIAA games there instead.
Would think SF would have to put up some $ to give up lost revenue in Brookings.

Re: 2004 Attendance
I hope that doesn't happen. Yes SDSU is South Dakota's team, but Brookings is there home. Who wants to play at Howard Wood, when you can play at CAS. Plus, after being at the Hobo Day game, I don't think you can beat the atmosphere they are building there. I live in Sioux Falls, and sure it would be quite convienent to have a game here, but I would much rather make the dirve to Bookings.

Re: 2004 Attendance
Jackmd:
Here are the attendance figures for the past several seasons for SDSU Football. 2004 is very impressive hopefully this is a new trend for SDSU Football.
This is the by far the best way to show the rest of South Dakota and Division I-AA that SDSU is serious about its move and that the Support! is there. Take notice Big Sky Conference.
It is also great momentum for the fans and another great selling point SDSU’s capital campaign. Good Stuff and GO JACKS!
Cannot wait to see the football and basketball teams out here in Colorado.

Re: 2004 Attendance
For those wondering how we would do attendance wise against the Big Sky, here you go.
http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/Internet/...ATTENDANCE.pdf
Home Avg. Attendance:
Montana - 23,061
Montana St. - 12,257
South Dakota State - 9,846
Northern Arizona - 8,685
Idaho St. - 6,897
Eastern Washington - 6,466
Portland St. - 6,305
Weber St. - 6,284
Sac. St. - 4,994
I don't know about you but I am pretty impressed. I would really like to see us up over 10,000 next year. It would be great to see a crowd like we had for Hobo Day every home game. Being at the game I will agree with JackJD that the vast majority of fans on Saturday were Staters. Augie had a small group in Section R and that was about it.
Go State! ;D
P.S. did you notice who is leading the nation in I-AA Avg. Attendence . . . our old friends the Southern University Jaguars 7-2 on the year.
