Basically ran through the new coaching appointments. Over 70 applicants for each position. They did not do the full process for the Defensive Coordinator as this was an emergency position and they had to fill quickly or they would still not be done. All young high energy guys. Went through where they would be recruiting as well. Gearing up for spring practice.
I like Sarvis's time at Rhode Island, a D1AA school.
Its a little unusal that a New England guy would like the midwest that much and come back after a few years in New England. His time at Minnesota Morris must have been addictive to the midwest. I suspect he is looking for a better opportunity at SDSU.
This too could mean that Coach Sarvis has a complete different network for recruiting that we have never had before.
We have had very few players on our roster east of Chicago. He might possibly have some Pennsylvania or Ohio contacts or even further east into New England.
It would worth looking at the RI roster to see where they got their team.
If I am not mistaken Norwich is a high profile school academically in Mass. So looks like another good pick by Stig, and you hope all the new staff can all work together and put together good game plans that win football games.
I think SDSU being 6-5 last year and losing some games by a play or two, were the result of having good game plans and getting the players to believe in what they are doing. You hope this will continue and even take a step up. Go Jacks. ;D
