I sure hope this is true, but would be hard-pressed to believe that they have hired someone already.  Even if they hire from within, which they don't really have anyone to hire, they still have to go through a formal search process i believe.  I would assume we would here something on the dbacks and dline coaches first.

Not sure what's going to happen, but a hire could have been made. In a situation like this they can do what is called an emergency hire (at least they used to do this). In the case of an emergency hire the position is filled, then advertised at a date in the future (like a year from now). Pretty standard procedure. My guess is that they want to hire the coordinator first so that he will have a say in who get's hired for the D-Line and D-Backs jobs. Of course, I have no clue what's going on, merely speculation on my part.

depot radio 910 interviewed coach stig last week - stig said they would hire the defensive coordinator first and quickly. He said it was an emergency hire.

There was one football coaching position listed on the SDSU Exempt Jobs page up until recently, but of course it was the other open position. That's gone, so they must be reviewing applicants and preparing to hire that one before long, too.

From what I've heard, they're currently somewhere in interview process on the non-DC openings.

Had you said that the first time around I wouldn't have been so anxious. Coaches never know when decisions like this will be made.

Talk to Stig yesterday and he said a hire has been made, didn't even think of asking more info.  I believe it was the DC.
