According to USA Today research, Cherokee native Adam Timmerman is the second highest paid Iowan in the National Football League. The former South Dakota State standout and current offensive lineman for the St. Louis Rams had a 2004 salary of $6,136,500.
That's six of those big, big bills and a little change. In simple terms, almost 6.2 million bucks.
Among the other Siouxlanders in the NFL, next on the salary scale in 2004 was Sioux City North graduate Matt Chatham. New England's Chatham, a linebacker with three Super Bowl championship rings, earned $539,600. . . .
Chatham is a USD alum. Just goes to show you the value of a SDSU education.
