    Re: Tailgatin' SDSU Style

Saw this in my Jacks Flash:

    New tailgating
    policies to be
    enforced in 2005

Tailgating in “The Backyard” directly north
of Coughlin-Alumni Stadium will take on a bit
of a different look during the 2005 football
    season.
Season ticket holders who qualify for
priority parking can now reserve a tailgating
space in “The Backyard” for all seven
    Jackrabbit games at Coughlin-Alumni
Stadium this season. Spaces will be reserved
and marked with a sign for each game.
Three tailgating space sizes are available:
    66 feet-by-66 feet, 33 feet-by-66 feet and
    33 feet-by-33 feet.
Non-reserved areas will still be available on
    a first-come, first-served basis, although a
parking fee of $5 per car will be assessed in
    “The Backyard.”
Use of alcohol is limited to areas directly
north and west of Coughlin-Alumni Stadium,
and all beverages must be consumed from a
plastic or paper cup. Kegs are not permitted.
    SDSU-sponsored activities, including Fun
Zone, pre-game barbecues and musical entertainment
prior to selected games, begin three
    hours prior to kickoff.
Call the Jackrabbit Ticket Office at 1-866-
GO JACKS for more information today.

    Go State! ;D

      Re: Tailgatin' SDSU Style

There was no statement limiting the hours. It says SDSU sponsored events will begin 3 hours prior to the game but didn't say there would be a restriction on others. Do you suppose I could camp out at my tailgate spot? ;D

        Re: Tailgatin' SDSU Style

I never have been any kind of a tailgater but I do like the policy of charging for space and allowing those who do like to tail gate the opporuntity to be part of the Jackrabbits game day and contribute with the rent fee. Very good idea I must say. These are the ideas that will be copied by our former D2 opponents.

The tailgate lot will open 5 hours prior to kick-off, and close two hours after the completion of the game.
