    GSU Talon...sad, very very sad

Here's a tip for the team Talon, if (when) the field is iced over make sure to wear the longest screw in cleats possible. Really helps the traction. That, and don't wear recievers gloves. They get stiff when it's cold. No good. And only puss!es wear long sleeves when it gets below 32 degrees. I'm sure the GSU boys aren't puss!es. Make sure to pass that along to your boys.

Now the glove thing is important!

As far as the long cleats we cant afford them but I'll send the coach some # 10 nails and have the team pound it threw the souls of there tennis shoes on the flight out.

Yankees lose. Deuce McCalister is my starting RB in fantasy, and now i have to come on the board and listen to this crap from talon boy with another three weeks to look forward to before our game.

Could this day be any worse. > > >

It could be, you could have Ahman Green. I'll gladly trade you Green for Duece.

It can get so cold, that you need ice packs just to keep warm. ;D

Also, you'll avoid much embarrasment if you simply don't ask why all the cars up north have those three-prong electrical cords coming out of the front grilles.[/quote]

My family and I were on (summer) vacation several years ago and had car trouble near Sheridan Wy. We stopped in there for a fix and that's where I saw my 1st 3 prong electrical cord hanging out of the grill..

To my way of thinking any place cold enough to necessitate such winter devices is WAYYYYYYYY too cold for this redneck.

Tell ya what tho. We were treated extremely well by everyone we met in Sheridan. In fact, the service mgr. put servicing our cars problem at the head of the line of cars waiting service, and that was a classy thing to do.

We also had the best steak I've ever tasted in Livingston Montana. (Stockman's Bar n' Grill?) Our local beef tastes like cardboard in comparison.

Back to football. The first 3 games our Eagles were so baddddd I started calling them "Eaglets".. But, surprisingly, and thankfully, the team play seems to be maturing into more of what you would normally expect from a GSU team. Our defense is still suspect, but even that aspect of our game play seems to be getting back on track. Hopefully by the time we come to your house we can give your guys a good game.

What's your take on the Boise State qb (Z?) and his meltdown against Georgia earlier this season? That was weird..

Best wishes for a great season, with the exception of the game with GSU. And we would appreciate a nice, dry playing surface, with about 85 degrees and sun please.

OK, I know TALON..........he talks a good game but does not play a good game. He has yellow blood. He refusewd my offer to come with me to Brookings.

Those of us want to know where to eat on Friday night and Saturday night after the game. We want a place that caters to Rabbit football fans. We are looking forward to making the trip.

Another question? I am bringing my teenage daughters.......are they allowed in establishments (not places like Appleby's) that serve alcoholic beverages like a sports bar.

Hey '89Rabbit...........I have that book with the autograph for you. Send me an e-mail on how to meet with you on Friday or Saturday. jdurrence@yahoo.com

Anyone having pheasant for their tailgate meal? I want to eat with you. I will actually pay you for the meal. ;D

I think newer cars don't need the heater like the older cars did. I had an 87 Chevy Sprint that while it was a piece of junk (no second gear, and the heater didn't work - tons of fun when it's -20 degrees) started and ran just fine in the coldest weather. Never had any problem with my other cars either (a 94 LeBaron and a 91 Civic.)

In Brookings, you'll want to go to the Ram Pub. They make fine steaks and the daughters will be welcome. You should have set up to come a little early, and picked up a license. One of us could have taken you out to shoot your own pheasant.

The Ram is under new management, not sure what that affects, but I wasn't impressed with my Rueben on Sat.

Pretty much anywhere in town "caters to Rabbit football fans."

Cubby's in downtown Brookings is the most sports-bar-like sports bar. The restaurant/lounge in the Brookings Inn on the east side by I-29 used to be OK, don't know how it is nowadays.

If you like greek food/pizza, try George's, also downtown. Strictly an old-fashioned pizza joint, but I have a weakness for the "Greek Special" pizza. Mmmmm.
                            "I think we'll be OK"

Cubby's would be the place. Kids are welcome, you get great food (lots of it), a terrific environment, and lots of different types of beers. It's on our main street.

I have to agree. The Ram isn't what it used to be when Tom Yseth owned it. Too bad for us here in Brookings.

I think the other recommendations are on target: Great pizza at George's. Great sports atmosphere at Cubby's.
