While back home for Christmas I heard (and yes, from a reliable source) that Adam Timmerman is hanging it up following the conclusion of this season. He will return to Iowa to help run the family farm.

If this is true, I think it is a good time. He is getting older and pretty beat up. It's alwasy good to walk away before you are crippled for life. He is also still a very good player. It's better to walk away and be remembered as a great player, not a player that was pretty good back in his day. -
