    Re: 2006 schedule

At least it worked out that the last two games of the season will be away. That way football won't impinge on the basketball season here at SDSU and we won't have to explain low attendances. Sarcastic yes, however it is true sadly. This could be the toughest schedule so far the Jacks.

      Re: 2006 schedule

Also we only play two non-DI-A last year it was three. Looking forward to 2007, but hoping for another successful year. UNI does make a good oportunity to make a road trip and start up an old rivalry.

As for the Argus, not impressed with that opening line. Why not say tough 6 game road slate? Guess NDSU and SUU are gimmie games.

Also State has a typo on the schedule, the Nicholls state looks like a home game first glance.

Does anyone know the date for the Beef Bowl (which also has been the football alumni weekend) in 2006?

Solid schedule despite LaCrosse and WPenn. Can't wait to make the trip to UNI. HoboDay game should be great. Looks like Cal-Poly away for the pheasant opener, hope its a night game so I can listen. Would like to fly out to Montana and trust that the team will have a charter offer.

Boat party the week of Oct 14th?

Looking ahead to 2007, we are working with a road game at Georgia Southern, and home games with Montana, Texas State and Stephen F. Austin. Should be fun!

If you did not make the Montana trip last year, I strongly recommend making it this year. One of the best I-AA experiences I have had. I went to both Cal Poly games there last year and was very impressed with Missoula, pre-game tailgating, the stadium and the games. Pound for pound the loudest stadium around. The fans were gracious in both winning and losing.

I'll be making the trip this year for sure.

I'm strongly considering it as well. I hear it's an experience to take in. Not to mention the Jacks will be there

The 2007 schedule potential is exiting, hope we continue to play everyone tough.

2008 will be the important one as far as playoffs go.

Nicholls State will be an interesting experience for those interested in a roadtrip. Thibodaux, LA. is a very unique town. literally in the middle of the bayou. (I'm sure everyone saw "The Waterboy&quot I have seen their stadium and toured the campus. Their fans will be passionate about football and very hospitable to our fans that make the trip. You can come down on the charter or fly into Baton Rouge, New Orleans or Lafayette. If you want to see THE MOST unique setting for college football in the nation this is a can't miss game. I am definetly going to this one.

I'm curious, has anyone that's been to a Montana game, also been to a major DI game? (Wisc, Neb, Iowa etc.) How does it compare (besides 1/3 the attendance)??

I went to a Florida/Auburn game in the swamp the year Florida won the national championship. The only differences I saw was it just was on a smaller scale and Poly fans did not travel like Auburn fans. They had motorhomes rolling in three days before the game and they all were flying Auburn flags. As far as the noise the crowds made in the stadiums, the Griz fans can hold their own with anyone even if there are only 23,000 of them.

I have been to a number of stadiums. Would have to say the only one that was louder and more intense was at Lincoln, NE. The Montana fans were great, it was very very loud and as SloStang said.....only 23,000 fans. With the mountain right ther, the sound stays right there..it was fantastic. My son said on the field, at times they could hardly hear each other. A great experience

With Idaho State apparently off the 2006 Schedule we are down to the following home games Wisc Lacrosse,Central Arkansas,UC Davis and William Penn. We are in need of a good DIAA home game and I'm afraid it's not going to be easy to find one. I would rather try and schedule USD or USF then see another obscure DII,DIII or NAIA school.

I believe somebody had said St. Cloud has the same open date on their schedule. That would be a decent game to have on the schedule.
