    Re: Injuries

Lets just hope our banged up O-line can give some small holes and the QB a little time today. We don't need any more injuries with the schedule we are facing.
My thanks to all the players with how hard you have played under these circumstances.
Go Jacks - win or lose I am behind you.

I doubt Watson will be returning kicks after last week.

Lost in last weeks debacle is that little nugget.  How do we take an honorable mention all-conf player (Harris) out of kickoffs and put back there a guy who hasn't returned kicks for at least 2 years.  Plus, Watson's not exactly known for his speed.  He's a bruiser.  You saw the results of that decision.  Sorry, don't mean to push the thread in another direction, but this subject came up while discussing the game with some people.[/quote]

This weeks release shows it's Micah and Hohn, with Dusty S. on PR.

Also shows Parker about A. Pick on Kickoffs.

I was wondering whatever happened to the kid that was returning punts last year, I think his name was Aanenson and he was fearless as far as catching the ball and trying to make something happen.  I had never seen someone that gutsy back there in a long time.

        Re: Injuries

Paul has had some concussion issues in the past. don't know if that is the issue currently.

          Re: Injuries

I know that injuries are an inevitable part of football, but it seems like we get nailed hard by the injury bug every year. Perhaps we needed to re-evaluate our strength and conditioning program. Case example would be Kardoes: I know he has been hampered with injuries at least two of the years he has been at SDSU; he lost a medical redshirt (in addition to his redshirt year) when we went D-1 (I think he could play at a D-2 school next fall if he desired). Perhaps he would have lived up to the potential Stig sees in him if he had been healthier.......

Unless the injuries are pulled hamstrings or something similar, there really isn't much anyone can do to avoid injuries. You get your knee rolled up on and you're going to get hurt no matter how strong you are. Same for shoulder problems, etc. I agree, we seem to always be unlucky in the realm of injuries.

Brock Campbell was to have surgury last night in Louisana for a ruptured splen injury suffered in the game at Nichols State. Our thoughts and prayers for an excellent recovery and back on the field next year......

Seems to be a popular football injury this weekend. Same thing for Chris Simms today...

Wow tough break for Brock.  Best wishes and get well soon, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Looks like we might be a little thin at DB as Joseph Blackmen was hurt the week before at UNI.  Anyone know how Joseph is doing?

                  Go State!

I see they pulled Devin Pruett's redshirt during the Nicholls St. game. Sounds like he is pretty good.

                      Re: Injuries

I believe Devin was also injured in the Nicholls State game.

Not sure on the severity at this point.

                        Re: Injuries

This weeks news release says senior center Mark Oelkers will make his debut this week after suffering through injuries and illness. This should help the O-line out.

Jason Nobiling had knee surgury today. Hope all will be OK. He has had 2 surguries on the same knee already.
