well, I was checking in back and forth, and with 8 mins to go, down 17-6.
So, I go to bed with the wife, but then she says no-go, so I say, "I'm gonna check the end of the game".
I can't get back in on wnax...I check here...the game is tied...I run outside to the car and start driving...parker hits the field goal...I run into the store and grab a sixer.
I come out, Parker kicks off, and they fumble.
8-)
Huge win. Congrats to Coach Stig and the guys.
Classic. My vote for post of the night.

I suppose technically you deserve demerits for turning off the game before it's over. BUT, you COMPLETELY make up for it with the following...."So, I go to bed with the wife, but then she says no-go, so I say, "I'm gonna check the end of the game""

Huh? I know everyone's still excited about the game, but I have to ask....how the hell are you posting from your car?[/quote]
I'm using my Blackberry. I pulled over in a parking lot to listen after the kick.

My vote for second best post of the night. Huge points for posting from the Blackberry while driving!!!
Great win, great to see us stick in there and pull one out. This team is rising to the challenge. Kardoes played like he wanted to win and made the decisions and executed. WOW!!!!

Now thats funny right there I don't care who you are.
Good job team! This will make the Beef Bowl alot more interesting than having an o fer squad coming back home. Too bad half the remaining student body on campus this weekend is engrossing theirselves in Iowa's butt whuppin at the hands of OSU and Nebraska's squeaker over KU to even know whats going on! Cant wait til Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Cheer the team from South Dakota with loyal hearts so true!"
Got to beat Central Alabama next week. They shut out USD today and play Augie later this season. There's still time for SDSU to salvage a decent season. The worst part of the schedule, that month-long road trip, is over. Congrats, Jacks. Great game tonight.
Adversity--Kardoes went to the hospital and came back (!) - A team that doesn't believe may fold, I think that motivated us. It says a lot about the kids and coaches we have in our program.
McNeese had speed, and ability to make plays on offense, it was a hard-hitting physical game. Their QB runs the ball like a linebacker.
Our D-line played extremely well, great job.
Justin Horn started catching punts this week. "He makes me nervous" - he made the other team nervous, what a great competitor.
They're different on offense. They ran a ton of plays, I don't know how they master them, sometimes I think that shoots them in the foot.
The run that little tackle reverse and get 25 yards, next time they run it they get 2. I'm proud of our defense and our entire team.
I think we talked too much about their speed, to be honest. The one play, they were 2nd and 19, the guy ran across the field and Brock Gentile knocked him out at the one. It isn't your speed, it's your heart that makes a football player.
I'll go on record, I thought they had even more (than 19) penalties in the game . . .
Penalties hurt us to start out. We had six in the first quarter. You're the other team's best defense when you do that.
Andy when to the hospital with what we think is a broken jaw...the look in his eye was 'let's win this football game' it means a lot to your football team.
After the fumble, they just come back, they don't hang their head. I'm amazed with the momentum that could have given McNeeese.
Harris touchdown-I can't wait to get back and see the film. 2-point conversion, I think he lobbed it a little too soft, it was a bit scary, but it happened.
We all know Parker can make it from there, I thought they'd call time out, the offensive staff came down and said we think we should kick it on 3rd down. I get to talk on the radio, but great job by all the offensive coaches.
The clock started on the kick and the ball rolled around long enough--Parker said he'd kick it out of the end zone, we said to squib it, he said "you're crazy" but we squibbed it and it worked out.
I hate night games--I love it in Couglin but I hate the wait, never once have I heard a guy say 'I wish we weren't on the road.' It'll be nice to be at home for a week. Our guys are tough, our guys play in the present and we're going to look forward to Central Arkansas.
Cory had a hip flexor, very painful but it's just pain, doesn't restrict a lot of things. Other players got dinged up. The big one is Andy Kardoes, he's going to be sore but right now I don't think he's feeling any of that, he's feeling good about the win.
What a blessing to be around these guys, to work at South Dakota State, if they don't show up to see a good Central Arkansas team, a good SDSU team, but I don't care if 1,000 or 10,000 show up, it'll be a good game.
I think Andy has finally become the leader everyone was looking for him to be. This offense is his. He just needs to have fun with it.

Something tells me that there will be just a little bit more incentive than usual for our boys to go out and play a real good game against Central Arkansas next week.
