Somehow, wide receiver JaRon Harris broke free for three touchdown receptions from quarterback Andy Kardoes to lead SDSU to the improble comeback victory and earn Harris the Great West Offensive Player-of-the-Week award. Linebacker Mike Maresh led North Dakota State in hold the Big 10's Minnesota team to 249 yards in total offense to earn the Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor, while South Dakota State punter Neal Bainbridge averaged 44.2 yards to try and pinned Cal Poly twice inside its own 20 yardline to earn Special Teams honors.
