    Re: William Penn

offense has lost the killer instinct since the first 3 series. Also, 2 missed FG's is a little odd. Granted, one was blocked, but the 34 yarder is almost a gimme for Parker.

it'd be nice to see either Watson go over 200 or Hohn go over 100 or both.

Jacks win 34-3. Nice win for the Jacks. Lackluster 2nd half, but mainly because of the substitutions. Way to go Jacks!

Anyone hear the attendance numbers on the game?

            Re: William Penn

I was at the game, and not the best performance this year, but give William Penn some credit, they had a good running back and a few others that were good players. There just was not enough of the impact players to make the game close. I would venture that nearly everyone played. This good. We got some good players who we have not seen much of. Even Crawford got a series, but it was the last of the game and they were running. Stig said in the post game show, that Crawford likes to throw the ball. So he will get his chance.

We need to come out and beat SUU. Stig was told by the Poly and Davis coaches that SUU could have won both games, they are not bad of a football team. SUU seems to have good defense so this next game will be interesting.

It was never announced at the game and they did not play their game show routine on the score board where we guess the right total.

That would surprise me. I figured there would be an announced total of 8,000+ (actual around 6,000). The west side was at 80% capacity and all the rest would have about filled it up.

The coaches didn't air out the ball except a few times for the endzone from the 30/40. Otherwise it was mostly run.

Stig said on the post game that they hope Koening will play next week as it wasn't as bad as the original injury that kept him out 3 games. Andy did have ice on, but I don't think it was serious. Stig said there were 3 injuries, but I don't know the others.

Looks like NDSU just came from behind to beat UC Davis, looking forward to the showdown in two weeks. SDSU just needs to come out strong in Utah and play some good ball.

As for Parkers kicks, the snaps were almost all low, and this did make him angry. Bainbridge picked one up off the ground and made a huge boot.

                    Re: William Penn

Just returned from Brookings and the game.  The Jacks exercised a little muscle early and then played pretty relaxed, trying some different player combinations and giving some new people some good minutes.  Stig commented post-game that they were a little sloppy at times but I wasn't disappointed in this game.  I think the Jacks could have easily run the score past 50 if they had a real blood-thirsty attitude but that wasn't necessary.  And, when you think about the level of intensity this team has maintained for the prior five weeks, well, this was a perfect breather before two really tough ones.

Great day for outdoor football.  Weather conditions were perfect and sitting on the east side was very comfortable with the full sunlight.

We could have hired the USD ticket people to make sure the head count exceeded 5,700, thereby averaging more than 10,000 per home game. But, no, we played it straight and I think the crowd was around 4,500.

I was there last week and it looked like 15,000 plus and I was there today when it looked like 4,000. I think attendance is very honest when announced.

Good game by the Jacks. William Penn made a good showing in the 2nd quarter. Koenig looked more upset than hurt but I am worried about his shoulder. Andy will be fine.

Nice job by both the O-line and D-line. The ends on defensive still need to focus on containment. Parker missed the FG and the snap might be to blame. I still have full confidence in him.

A little worried about the running game if Kory is out next weekend. Wish I could make the flight to Vegas.

The center of attention was the SiouxFall Bowl that is the Sioux Falls schools Roosevelt and OGorman are dominating the playoffs are head to the Dome finals.. So I guess the Argus is putting their readers first, at least they think so.

Just a quick question no smack intended. I understood the scheduling of UWL for a warmup game but why did you guys schedule this game when you already had UWL? Did you ask the folks who did USD (San Diego) to do your scheduling? Ouch.

Pretty tough to get excited about a team most have not heard of or don't know where they are from (see my last post). I still question this one but understand how hard scheduling is for OOC games.

Has I understand it we lost the UNC game and Idaho St. backed out for a DI-A game so we were stuck in a bad way and had to settle for William Penn. Register said we paid them $27,500 to fill the open date. I could be mis-informed but this is what I understand.
